We spent 19 days on Scarlet Lady in March and absolutely loved it! My 82 year old husband got his first tattoo on board too. You’re right, Griff, it’s geared toward the young at heart and those who like to have fun and are open to new experiences. We loved that there was no one under 18 on board, no massive main dining rooms, and the shows weren’t the traditional boring snoozers you find on most cruises. The food choices were really good (favorites were Pink Agave & The Wake, Noodle Around, Let’s Taco Bout It & Bento Baby). Music and skits pop up here and there if you’re lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, and there’s live music often. I also was lucky to be able to get in on one of the secret tours! We went into the crew bar and had a magic show. It was hilarious and the drinks were great too! We loved being liberated from carrying an access card everywhere- the wristbands were such a perfect solution! Impervious to water, sun, sand, salt, etc., they served as identification, ship charge and cabin key. Oh, and though we didn’t try it, they say you can shake the wearable anywhere on board to order champagne delivery! If you splurge on a Rock Star cabin like we did, prepare to be spoiled! You’ll have priority boarding with a private Rock Stars only champagne meet & greet once on board to get you set up with any reservations you might need. Need a reservation that’s not available in the app? Your Rock Star Agent/concierge will make your wishes come true throughout the voyage! And be sure not to miss the Moët & Chandon happy hour from 5:30 to 7 every evening at Richard’s Rooftop, the private Rock Star retreat! You’ll have a chance to meet your fellow sailors and dedicated agents and staff. The Rooftop is available all day for sun bathing, relaxing under the umbrellas and hot tubbing. We loved the whole experience, and now the traditional cruise lines just don’t measure up. We definitely plan to cruise Virgin again!

Heading out Nov 16th on our 3rd Voyage; really has become our favorite cruise. We've been on 10 Disney cruises including the new WISH this past September. We still love those cruises but as a couple, Virgin has this market with NO KIDS ON BOARD. There is something really cool about all adults at dinner, hanging at the pool, or watching live music.

We saw the Scarlet Lady docking as our cruise with Royal was ending in Miami a few weeks ago. My husband and I (53) decided then and there that Virgin is our next cruise🎉 we wanted the “young” kid free energy that I see in your videos of Virgin cruises. Our last experience with Royal was disappointing as there were MANY over 65, which resulted in very low energy of fellow cruisers. Also just the main dining room just takes too long and the food wasn’t great. The ship was older and REALLY needed a face lift too! We are booked for next Sept!

I think it's really cool how different Virgin Voyages is with cruising activities compared to traditional cruise lines who target families or older groups. We went as a family in June and didn’t come across anything inappropriate or that was awkward! Tbh we didnt even see or hear about some of the inappropriate shows there was plenty of family friendly things to do on the ship.

Griff, as I told you I’d be on Valiant Lady in a month’s time, my 1st cruise in this year, I can’t wait for unleashing not 1 but 3 female stuffed dogs, Lucy and her puppy and sister, plus a female teddy from P&O for our hen party. I love bears so much and this is why I like their lookalike Chows. I never sleep alone or can’t without a stuffy. In fact a dozen of them occupy my single bed. Hey Griff and Alyssa. I love y'all's videos and channel, as they are very helpful. I myself have been on multiple cruises (10), and can relate to a lot of the content. I am planning on doing. Virgin cruise for the first time spring of next year. However, I am very traditional when it comes to cruising. I like formal nights (I don't get to wear a suit or tux that often), dinner people, or assigned seating, and stage shows. I do have a question. I am a very fit guy (32 years old), who loves working out, but wears thongs for swimsuits. How is Virgin's attitude or vibe towards man thongs at the pool or sunning on deck? I wore one on a Disney cruise in the adult section in 2019, and literally no one said anything to me. Thanks.

Tough…I’d say choose a cruiseline with weekend sailings or 3-4 day sailing first. You’ll run into more Bachelorette/ Bachelor parties. For volume you’ll go Carnival, the newer ships are 7 days but try spring break March/April sailing For better food and night life Virgin Voyages. It’s the closest you’ll get to a true Miami vibe. Royal Caribbean is always a safe choice, lots of kids though especially during spring break. A hack you can do is join a facebook group for a potential sailing you wanna go on then check some profiles that are saying they’re going for xyz for meet ups etc. Good luck, drink responsibly, don’t be a creep , and ask for consent.

Sailed her 3 times. I thought the Marriage skit was stupid the first time, no second chance. The music , for the most part was too loud and thumping and set for much younger than me (62). I wish Branson would have more Rock music venues. Loved the gym, the food, no kids. I’m taking my husband to try Resilient in Europe to have him experience her. Hope he can find a quiet place to read when on ship. He may even like the entertainment, if we can find it.

Virgin voyages is my absolute favorite cruise line!!! I had so much fun on my cruise. My husband and I attended the sex show and we had a full blown make out session on stage and the crowd went wild! 🤣🤣🤣 We were then known as the “make out couple.” Next time I’m totally getting a tattoo!!!

European culture is not as "general" as US culture I feel like. Here in Austria topless tanning is A-okay in certain designated nude "FKK" areas but frowned upon at a public pool. In Greece I have never seen anyone go topless and I am not sure it is even legal.

Since i do not like kids I'd definitely try this cruise. But i can do without all the attempts at marriage social work. I'm on a cruise for vacation. Everyone else can fix their marriage/dating life problems at home or before they come. Just make the ship fun without therapy BS. Those kind of games will make this ship unpopular for Virgin.

European here, topless tanning is not a big deal. Also spent a lot of time in Australia, also not a big deal there. It’s just the human body and after a few minutes you kinda stop noticing

I've been so on the fence about Virgin. I love the idea of no kids and how they handle their food options. The PJ party does sound fun. I am down for a modern take on the traditional production show. But it's a hard pass for anything overtly sexual, as that part of my being isn't for public participation (no judgment for those who are fine with it; it's just not for me, and part of why I love cruising is that the entertainment is overwhelmingly "family friendly"). As for the issue of topless areas onboard, I'll say that I've been to plenty of topless and even clothing-optional beaches. And every single time, there are pervy men there who sit and gawk. *That's* what makes it uncomfortable. I am not offended by someone topless or nude; it's the guys who stare with their tongues hanging out that ruin it. On one clothing-optional beach, there was a (fully clothed) guy who plunked himself down on a towel, opened up a book, and proceeded to eye up and down every woman who crossed his path. He was there for a couple hours and literally never turned a single page of his book. Nudity isn't gross, but behavior certainly can be.

This year we are sailing Royal for the first time and then I am going on an MSC cruise. Lately I find myself seeking out quieter cruise lines with less children. The chaos does not appeal to me anymore. I think Virgin will be too young of a demographic for my taste.

I am sailing on Virgin Voyages in April 2023 for the 11-day cruise to Portugal with my husband. We are very excited about trying a cruise that is adults only and is geared toward adult fun. Some of the adult events you mention may not be for us but we have no issue with having them on the ship. We are in a Rock Star Suite and can’t wait to be pampered like celebrities! We are definitely going to take advantage of the “Shake for Champagne” to be delivered to us where ever we are on the ship. Can you find out exactly how that works and maybe what brand of champagne you get if you do this?

@@GriffandAlyssa Good to know. I've heard Christians bash Carnival (and those people have never sailed on Carnival) because they thought that Carnival was too much of a party atmosphere. We love Carnival because it is fun. So good to know about Virgin Voyages as well.
