Some information (Guys I pinned this for a reason please read it, some of you guys are not. T^T THE PLOT IS NOT THE SAME. And since people keep asking why it doesn’t make sense, I don’t know either. This is the information the subtitles provided us with and that’s all we know + the plots given to us) : Lucas knows the future is being rewritten. Athy has prophetic dreams, she is not reincarnated (unless they pull a plot twist, not sure anymore so take it with a grain of salt). There’s a high chance Lucas and Athy’s first meeting will be changed as a result. I hope they make it pretty. Athy wasn’t executed for poisoning jennette. She was exiled for using/violating something to do with black/forbidden magic. She also doesn’t have magic (this is weird to me but someone translated everything so 🥲). Maybe it has something to do with Diana, I’m not sure. Rip blackie… There will be a total of 16 episodes. Here are the plot summaries (there’s two): Plot - The Princess of the magic kingdom, Sia, has unique gemstone eyes. She found that her dreams seemed to predict the future. On her 18th birthday, she was involved in a terrifying conspiracy. Her father almost died of black magic and she herself was exiled far away. As Sia grows up, characters from her destiny appear one after another, such as the introverted and cruel father, the narcissistic and poisonous magician, the loyal knight, the gentle and shy duke’s only son, the girl longing for affection… the brave and kind Sia - Can you reverse fate and protect yourself and all the people you cherish? 2nd plot summary by Kuaikan - Entering the Ruby Palace by mistake, lighting up the magical dream. The cutest princess Sia captures the ruthless father and the tsundere magician, spinning and jumping in the echo of love. (my lucathy heart is happy 🤍)

3 different retellings. Imagine having to explain that to new/non fans. At least the general idea is still there (win father’s affection, stay alive, etc.). Some iconic scenes will still stay but I’m sad they’re changing a lot, Lucas and Athy’s first meeting included most likely as blackie doesn’t exist as far as we know and Lucas knows about the future changing. Either way, I just hope it’s good.

I read the manhua but is the novel really different from the manhua I haven’t read the novel so when u mentioned I am confused .

@@EshalAshima Yes, it’s different in terms of the plot/antagonist. Also we didn’t get to see Cabel (he was so cute and sweet, he was the second ML in Lovely Princess), Hari, or Chief Grandpa. We also didn’t get to see Nox which was a “puppy” gifted by lucas because he noticed how sad and lonely Athy was without blackie. It also has more romance (some genuine moments too not just romance. And the romance isn’t exactly shoved in your face either which I love about it, it still focuses on Claude and Athy), as well as was more realistic and painful. For starters the character’s personalities were also changed, especially Jennette and I’d say Athy as well. Athy wasn’t interested in ruling and was more interested in magic which contrasts with the manhwa heavily. She was also much more… blunt? I’m not sure the correct word to use, but she cursed a lot and was stubborn and a big Tsundere. I guess just imagine Claude as a female lol. Jennette was not evil, but she still served as an antagonist because her black magic was manipulating and harming everyone (unintentionally btw, once again she was not evil). We get to see her show her ugly emotions and thoughts in the novel, at one point she starts sobbing and asking why she was doomed such a fate and why everyone had lied to her. Lucas was a bit colder (his backstory is much different in the novel, he had a family that had forced him to stay alone at an annex, abandoned him when he was in his teen years which leads to his master adopting him, although more like kidnapping him. Master eventually abandons him too for his own family, then kills himself in front of lucas leading to lucas freezing his heart). He was also more possessive of Athy. Ijekiel was less perfect and a bit creepier in the novel. As you can see, the pattern here is that the novel characters had more flaws. Ana wasn’t alive and stayed dead, no “brother brought back from the dead”. Instead we had Aety as the villain which tbh I preferred. Chances are we probably won’t see Claude’s brother in the Donghua as a result. Claude also didn’t stay as sleeping beauty, instead he learned to love Athy without his memories and Athy spent her first birthday with him at 15 (with a beautiful boat scene between them too, I loved it 🥲) before lucas returns that same night and heals Claude immediately with the branch. We didn’t get to see a lot of Claude and Athy scenes because the manhwa ended when she was like 15/16, and the sleeping beauty arc as well lasted pretty long. It practically did not exist in the novel. It’s kinda sad honestly, but I understand spoon wanted to do a different take. I still love both stories. The story doesn’t end there either btw, the main story ends when she turns 18 (the same scene where Lucas and Athy kiss three times in a row) and then there’s a few side stories.

I’m still seeing people complain about the eyes and demanding it be Japanese which is just sad. People have been living under a rock and haven’t seen Raeliana or Doctor Elise, which sadly had horrible animation (not the animators fault, budget) for such loved manhwas.

Idk how to explain but as someone who has heard CN, JP and KR VA, the vibes each has are different one another. CN has a bit more of a calming, chill style, JP sounds much more exaggerated, KR has a mix in between, in which it can be as calming and have a similar vibe to CN, but also can be exaggerated at times, though different from JP. It has its own flavor. It may have been because the JP voice acting sounds quite different from my initial expectation of voice in the manhwa

@@yilinglaozus Oh they are definitely changing their first meeting. Blackie seems to be nonexistent sadly. I just hope they don’t mess it up, I’m really curious how they’ll do it. :/ They did change a lot but most of it has to do with Chinese censorship, what helps me is knowing this is a third retelling of the same story. Anything new is welcome because that’s how we got the manhwa but I just hope new is good too in this case. 🥲 Also two actually. That is also my worry, the reason why Athy and Lucas got along so well in both the novel and manhwa was because they were both adults on the inside pretending to be kids. They understood each other well and could relate, now that they changed it people are going to call it gross without having read the original source material. 🥲

Theory : 1. Athy doesn't know she has magic and part of this magic is being able to see the future. Magic may be part of the family's power. Diana maay have also done something to Athy, maybe a spell that may protect her, causing Athy to regress back if Athy meets danger (that's based on the plot of a manhwa I read about a girl who has a spell that protected her from being killed by a duke, who on the contrary fell in love at first sight due to the spell). Her "prophetic dreams" only shows the events related to Athy's demise. Athy's powers may have been locked. If they follow quite a lot of manhua plots, I'm pretty sure it would be revealed at some point that Athy is actually OP. This may also explain part of Athy's maturity, more than having her as a child prodigy (though unrelated, I swear I hate seeing romance plots with an FL who has a child prodigy). Athy just didn't realize it. 2. Lucas knew Athy in the past in a certain way, maybe knowing her in her past life contrarily to how they never met originally. Lucas's attention may be primarily on Athy. He may have been more present in the things unfolding in Athy's original life, considering Athy as somewhat of a troublemaker. He may even find it unsurprising that Athy is the one who changes the course of events 3. Athy was never able to properly utilize magic and discovered a way to utilize dark magic. Athy may know something about Claude having a certain illness and tried to find a certain cure through any kinds of means. Athy in the trailer never denied the accusation but even seem to argue that she did so for Claude's sake. Athy is a very selfless person and such virtue is an important value even in China, to sacrifice everything you have for someone you love. Obviously, Athy would never utilize such a thing for herself or only to receive praise from Claude. Current Athy may still know of Claude's "illness", and this time would ask for Lucas's help instead of relying on black magic.

Most likely we won’t get any lucathy manhwa scenes (maybe some), especially since most of the romance happened towards the end. My best guess is that they’ll be taking novel scenes and changing them a bit, since there was a fireworks scene in the novel (it wasn’t the same as the one in the first PV though, so that’s why I say they’ll probably change them in some way). And they’ll be adding original scenes as well, now that blackie is sadly non existent too and the plot isn’t the same. 😭

I don't know...but call it a gut feeling....this plot might actually work....I mean it has novel elements, Manhwa Elements and few touches here and there...I Think this will be very interesting. Also the name Sia is good because I always called Athy Sia...lol 😂 😂 anyway can't wait for this! I actually have faith in Chinese animation! For example the Grandmaster of demonic cultivation had a very beautiful and fluid animation and other donghua's also had great animation... I was actually glad Japanese didn't animate this....as they tend to make these types of story in low quality like The reason why raelina ended up in duke's mansion and Doctor elise....so I am excited!!

Actually, with the matter of plagiarism adding with some other issue, it make sense for the donghua getting some change. Personally, I was surprised with the bold decision of chinese company to take this series. I love this as long as there were no major change. As for animation, I actually prefer the chinese company rather than japanese studio (especially on budget and lacking of staff). The things that I hate about donghua they were lacking of information. Please, at least give us confirmation on the release date (may? july? october? or next year?) I'm dying of waiting for the first episode.

The plagiarism was never the issue btw. This has already been decided in court and proven to be false long ago. Quite sad they harassed an author off the internet over a false claim. The manhwa changes were also due to Spoon wanting to focus more on the family aspect, I believe she said this herself. Now regarding the Donghua, the changes are due to censorship. About the release date, it’s supposed to release this year. The site says it’ll be online soon, so could be next month, the month after. We just know it’s soon and this year.

Sia was her nickname in the traditional Chinese version of the novel. The Donghua is Chinese so it makes sense, not many seem to know. The novel and manhwa were also two separate stories, this is a third retelling so I wouldn’t call it an AU but looking at the story from a different perspective I guess? 🤔 Rip blackie though, that makes me really sad. :( I don’t mind the different plot since that’s what happened with the manhwa and the novel but it’s still sad honestly. I’ll wait until it releases though.

Tbh, I would prefer that a Korean animation studio doing the animation adaptation rather than Chinese or Japanese. I was quite surprised that this time, it's a Chinese animation studio doing it (donghuas increase in popularity seems more recent tbh). The reason why I said that is because I feel like maybe the vibe would fit more because of local mindset than a foreign studio does. It also would help Korean animations shine a bit more imo as they already don't receive a lot of recognition. That aside, I was a bit confused at the premise of this trailer considering I read the manhwa (I did consider trying to read the novel, but the dilemma for me is about Jeanette; I've seen way too many og protag being the twist antag/villain in Korean stories especially so the manhwa's telling seemed more refreshing to me). I mean... From what I remember, first of all, Athy was never mentioned to be practicing black magic. She was framed for poisoning Jeanette (apparently, Jeanette schemed this in novel, her aunt schemed it in manhwa, though we never saw Jeanette's aunt?). This would then make the plot twist in which Jeanette was the one who actually has black magic instead of Athy (as someone completely made of black magic). Second, Athy was executed through hanging, not drowned. That was odd... Third, Athy lived her life three times, with memories of her second life intact, explaining how she has a consciousness despite being a baby. Idk what happens here. Anyways, I'm still curious to see how it develops. I just hope that Jeanette doesn't fall in the white lotus stereotype in this adaptation. Still willing to give a chance though! Though expectations are different, I hope that people won't mass cancel it because it's different

Incoming explanation: Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it’s interesting to read the different opinions. I read the novels and jennette is not evil, people often confuse novel jennette with LP Jennette (Lovely Princess jennette was actually evil). The amount of misinformation I see spread about novel Jennette can be really annoying, but I promise she wasn’t evil. She wanted to be loved and have a family, but she reacted to situations more realistically than manhwa Jennette. When she found out she was made out of black magic, she almost had a mental break down. And she felt jealous for Athy getting so much love and hated feeling that way, she hated herself for feeling that way but never once tried to hurt Athy because she cared for her. One of Jennette’s quotes in the novel, “I am tired of living in hell every day.” :’) She also did not scheme her poisoning, I’m not sure who said that but it’s not true (well, LP Jennette is a diff story). Once again, people often mistake them and that leads to misinformation. Claude’s brother did not exist in the novel either, he stayed dead so chances are we won’t see him in the Donghua either because the manhwa plot got messy as a result of including him. Aety was the original novel villain (and to be honest, better than Ana but I’m thankful for the manhwa giving Jennette a father). Athanasia in the novel was also NEVER Athy either. She only had one life and that was in the modern world. That is one of the huge differences between the manhwa and novel. She also isn’t executed in the Donghua, she was exiled for violating something to do with black magic. Not sure how she managed to drown though. That’s what the subtitles say, she’s a magical princess with no magic (probably something to do with Diana). I only translated it I have no idea either like everyone else. 😭 We can’t really be too upset when spoon changed the original story and their personalities too, we have to be patient and give it a chance (this isn’t directed at you but for anyone else that reads this) the same way original novel readers did with the manhwa. I’m surprised by the amount of people who don’t know the manhwa is not the original story in the comments though, I thought more people knew about the novels but guess not. By the way, the changes are due to Chinese censorship. And yes, I saw one of your comments. They will be including more lucas and Athy as one of the plot summaries indicates, and the production team really loves the two. Most of their scenes will probably be from the novel + original scenes since most of the romance in the manhwa got shoved towards the end. The Lucathy fireworks scene in the first PV from last year was taken inspiration from the one in the novel, so my best guess is they’ll be taking novel scenes, changing them a bit, and adding original scenes.

Then Lovely Princess Jeanette was actually someone who's fueled by revenge (which makes her more of an antagonist than a villain imo) while WMMAP Jeanette actually loves Athy. Seems like the effect seems reversed but ig it's the bonding time between Jeanette and Athy. Ofc, with such a case, I understand Jeanette's frustration because she had no real love in her life. It does seem to make Jeanette more relatable, in which we envy others for the things that they have but also disgusted at ourselves for being this way. As of the poisoning scene, I actually understand that Jeanette did that in Lovely Princess because I only remember the poisoning incident happening in the og plot of the novel that Athy read. As a manhwa reader, there was obviously no poisoning involved then. Maybe Jeanette was a bit more neutral for a character than being completely pure minded, not that I complain. As for being a magical princess with no magic, the quote is contradictory in itself. Though, I kinda remember that Athy may not have kniwn that she has magical abilities, especially in Lovely Princess, since Lucas ate Blackie to refuel his powers. It could be that she is a "magical princess" because Claude may have magical powers and she's expected to have magical abilities too, especially since Athy herself said it and she may not necessarily know much of Diana. The plot change, in which Athy has a prophetic dream instead of being isekaied, when mentioning Chinese censorship, I suddenly remember that part of the censorship which they control in part is isekai. Isekai plots still exist in media, but idk how controlled this is as that was at least what my mom told me. As a result, it may have made Athy have prophetic dreams instead, but regression would make more sense because a baby can't have a consciousness than a baby and wouldn't understand her prophetic dreams even as she grew to 5, because some kids don't understand certain concepts either. Idk why about the change from tea poisoning to black magic though. Despite being Chinese, I'm not a local so idk all the censorship policy

to be fair the manhwa took a 180 from the original light novel, so to me, I like that it is not a 1 on 1 adaptation and it's doing its own thing. as long as the basic premise and most of the general plot points are there. if i want to read the story of the manhwa, I'll read the manhwa haha since Spoon didn't follow the light novel anyway.

This was the second PV which showed her as a child. They only included Lucas in one snippet as well and he’s a huge fan favorite in the Chinese fandom. I’m sure she’ll get more scenes, remember Athy didn’t meet her as a child. Only saw her from afar once (which was the scene in the manhwa and novel shown from the looks of the background) until her debutante. 🤔

I can’t really say since the Donghua has a different plot, I’m not sure how they’ll tackle it tbh. :/ I’m hoping it’ll take the manhwa route because I really loved her sweet character but with how much the plot has changed, none of us can really tell yet. That’s a good point too regarding Lovely Princess although the Donghua did describe Jennette as the girl longing for affection as well, so who knows.
