Buffalo. They've been very good. Also, I think WSH is a surprise seller (thanks to their trade with BOS).

Clearly these guys have no idea what's important to the Buffalo Sabres. They need a solid, strong stay-at-home defensemen more than anything. The goaltenders are more than adequate, but face way too many shots. They young Sabres just need to get stronger next year, and play better 2way.

Yep, been screaming this from the mountain top. They have amazing young d-men already but they need to add to the group.

Personally as a buffalo native I’ll tell you exactly what we need. We need one more solid defenseman, maybe cut girgs and okoposo and give those two spots to one more elite sniper like mier or kane and give the other spot for a player like Wilson or someone who’s basically an enforcer. Sabres need an enforcer. The last thing out of the 3 is to get bigger and stronger during off season. I’d say also a goalie but the goalies are fine they are young and going thru growing pains. Give lukk this off season to develop and he’ll be just like tampas goalie and Levi will be fine as a back up for the next 3 years until he successfully develops into the player he’s supposed to be

I agree they should add a defenseman I have been calling for Jakob Chychrun over and over again listen I know his price tag is high but his contract isn’t and he would fit into the young core for at least 2 more years - I would dish out a (first round pick) and say - Bryson, Portillo, Ryan Johnson (if he doesn’t wanna sign) and even Matthew Savoie and a second. Basically I would throw at them whatever - in reason. Do it! I say no regrets there, I do have to disagree on the other two cuts you mentioned. Ok pops and Girgs are heart and soul type players. Gotta keep Ox for at least the season and I’d keep Girgs around. Longest tenured Sabre he is.

Youre spot on with them needing one solid anchor dman and the Sabres also needing some grit. But cutting girgs would be the dumbest thing they could do right now. Sure, he’s not a guy that produces on the score sheet often but we don’t need him to. We score plenty goals. He’s our best defensive offensman and he’s a work horse in corners and hard to play against. You need big physical defensive offensmen like him in the playoffs. We don’t need another finesse sniper. We’re a top 3 scoring team with less games played than every team. But you can’t expect to go far in the playoffs without players like girgs. The Sabres get pushed around a lot because they’re young talented finesse players. You’ll never win the cup like that alone. The good thing is that adams understands that and by this time next year he’ll find them a big dman and plus the young kids will grow into their bodies a little more and have more experience. But you gotta give girgs a little more credit man.

@@SalamiCheeks agree Girgensons plays a winning style of hockey. Physical and defensive and what the team needs. I say he’s a 4th line mainstay until his career is over.

@@SalamiCheeks I hear ya and it’s not that I don’t agree with you when it comes to girgs but the prospect pool is also so huge in buffalo that I don’t see him or okposo Making the roster next season beating out some of these new kids. saviore is gunna be huge and make the roster and probably someone else

@@jonnysnipes3123 I agree okoposso will probably be gone next season but they won’t cut girgs. You can’t have every player on your team be like Quinn or peterka. We have some great prospects that are going to be playing with us next year. Maybe a full season or maybe just a percentage of the season but most of them are finesse skilled player. Cup winning teams have at least one line that wears the other team out. That’s why I like krebs so much. He’s skilled enough to score a goal every once and awhile but he’s a pest to play against. It’s important to have some grit

If the Sabres can get a solid blueliner for picks or prospects, fine. But if I'm Kevyn Adams, I don't mess with the chemistry of that locker room unless there's an incredibly attractive offer.

Sabres already have three goalies on their roster - there is no way in hell they trade meaningful assets for John Gibson, a goalie that's been underperforming on a big contract. I really don't like that option.

Gibson isn’t underperforming, the team in front of him is horrific.

I’m a Red Wings fan. Love the idea of trading for Chychrun! Hoping to hit on this 1st round pick but if not let’s ship it somewhere for a solid piece

Sabres don’t need a goalie they need defensive help and upgrades to the bottom six of the forward group if possible

buffalo will absolutely not be pursuing a goaltender, in general, let alone at the deadline. i appreciate these takes, but this lacks nuance in that you have a unique situation in Buffalo; UPL is a VERY young partial starter (he is 23) and has been performing well (the loss to TOR is not on him), as much a of sure bet as possible in Devon Levi (currently playing in NCAA, so he is 2-3 years out from starting), Anderson who has a .920 save % and is always clutch, and other partial starter in Comrie (signed for this year and next). the 3-goalie tandem is working for now, as GMKA is not going to mortgage any assets top grab a rental goalie in the middle of what has been a steady and gradual development for UPL. Anderson is a high-end goalie who is only available once per week due to his age - but you will see him lay it all out here down the stretch, as he is 100% retiring at the end of the year. Buffalo will probably not make any significant moves at the deadline. this is the perfect situation/opportunity for Adams to evaluate scouting, drafting, and development performance.

Buffalo needs a veteran D man as Bryson, Clague, and Lyubushkin are not helping much. Someone old enough to hold back and play D and not go all salt and viniger to make a play just to turn it over for a breakaway. Also, how do you have a trade deadline segment and not talk about Blackhawks and Rangers?

Canucks trade Demko to the Sabers for their 1st pick in 2023. Demko is a proven star goalie. He could stand on his head like he did in the bubble (Covid year) where he earned the nickname Demigod
