Notes: - We resist change when things change - Adapt to change - Cheese is Life - Move with the cheese -Sniff/Scurry: Simple brains but good instincts, followed the same route everyday, they sticked to arriving early, they adapted to the fact that the cheese was slowly running out. Simple mice who can adapt, didn’t over analyze things and kept things simple -Hem/Ha: brains filled with many beliefs to search for cheese with a capital C, they woke up later and dressed slower. They stayed comfortable because they found the cheese. They hoarded the cheese for themselves. Didn’t pay attention to the small changes that were happening that they were unprepared for the big change. They stayed in station C to try and find cheese instead of going to a different station. The more important the cheese the more you hold onto it. Entitled little people over analyzed the situation. Hem was afraid to leave. Ha kept doing the same thing over and over again and wondering why things wouldn’t change. If you do not change you can become extinct. Move with the cheese not against it. Hem didn’t want new cheese because he wanted the old cheese. It’s safer to stay in the maze then stay in a cheeseless situation - Nothing gets better until you change, there’s always new cheese and you’ll be rewarded once you go forward and past your fears - Get ready for the cheese to move, savour the adventure and be ready to for cheese to move - stay in touch with what’s happening around you - let go of the old behaviour that keeps causing bad relationships with things and then move on with a better way of thinking - Old behaviour = same Results, New behaviour = different results - people changed because no one wanted to look like Hem A very interesting book that I will definitely be listening to again
