I bought my first motorcycle in 1990 when I was 19. It never even occurred to me to talk to someone about it first. I just bought it and I've been riding ever since.

My dad rode and I rode with him as a child. He passed few years back so I ride cause it makes me feel free and in his memory.

My father was a preacher in small mountain churches in PA. The first time I really noticed a motorcycle was about 1960. I guy rolled up on an Old Indian. I was riveted by that machine. He died about a mile down the road in an accident. I wasn't even aloud to sit on as much as a mini bike. I was in the military from 1973 - 1977. When I got out of the service I bought a Kawasaki 900 Z1. I had to sell it in 1982. Wanted to buy another one but in 1987 I was in a trucking accident. I lost my right leg and almost lost the left and shattered my arm. In 2006 I bought a 2000 fatboy. Didn't even know if I could ride. A few years later I bought a 2006 electraglide classic. I am 70 now and still riding the electraglide.

Parents bought me a mini bike when I was a kid never thought twice about asking anybody whether I should ride a motorcycle or buy one again kind of a different question. Maybe I didn’t understand it. 😊😊 anyway it strikes up good conversation.

No you understand it. As some people just went out and bought it. Some encouraged by friends to ride. Some wanted to but needed that push. So on and so forth.

I'm 46, I wouldn't say anyone gave me permission. However how I got into them is I grew up around it. 3,4 wheelers, dirtbikes.. My dad was into it he rode a goldwing and had all the off road stuff.

Thanks for dropping that knowledge on us. I can remember riding out to the Peach Army Run 2024 2up with my wife and was geeked the whole time, and that was my longest ride which was 468 mi from the house. seeing all of the people fellowshipping and having a good time just made us feel like we were at home. after that ride I was hyped for a month about and trying to find another way of riding long-distance again which was to KeyWest with a group, and I learned a lot from that ride, and you also dropped some questions on me about what I learned from that trip and what I should've done. I've learned from the mistakes that was made so I could have a better trip next time. thank you for dropping that knowledge on me.

I just decided with along with a friend at the time to buy motorcycles & ride. Sportbikes we in! My lady/ex wife at the time didn't mind me getting a motorcycle. Didn't ask anyone's permission. TV Guide!😂 Valentino Rossi is my favorite & was able to me him some years ago. My mom was ok getting a motorcycle.
