What a banger! Thanks for this video; it is beautifully articulated. This Arm/CDS drama is a soap opera I don't mind watching. I'm curious to know how Qualcomm will respond in the future. I'm looking for them to innovate or partner their way out of this; they're trapped for the moment. You probably couldn't call this extortion, but it might feel like it. 😇 I learned a lot, and I am very grateful for this video. Kasey, your dog mom face when Rhea was battling her squeaky toy is worth the price of admission. Seriously, you two are great! 122,000" subscribers, on your way to a million by the end of this bull market. I'm here for it!!

It is awkward for Qualcomm! They were on the other side (sort of) when Apple wanted out of paying for connectivity chips last decade. We could totally see Qualcomm working more with the RISC-V ecosystem, but as you point out, that's no easy fix. Will be interesting to see how they resolve this with Arm.

I own a little of both - QCOM and ARM. ARM stock dropped more than QCOM when the news came out
@liesuswiАй бұрын
And that is more likely because ARM is usually more volatile than QCOM, though I think ARM is more overvalued

I really like your videos, especially since the chip space can be a little daunting.

Would it be possible to have a video update about Canon nanoimprint lithography (NIL) ? The last video is about 1 year old and i believe they recently delivered a first unit for research i'm not sure what to think about it. Most papers online are not available with scihub and there is like 0 information on the english speaking internet (if there are japanese followers here i'm curious to know if something was said publicly about it).

You both Nail it again! The best explanation of the ARM / Qualcomm fued. As a long term investor of ARM... it seems petty ... some would even say unethical. I offer an alternative theory. By making a "big deal" now with its biggest customer Qualcomm they need to establish a legally binding presidence so this issue will never come up again. I do not believe the ARM board is doing this to make a quick buck but rather a long term strategic move that is just "business". Thoughts?

It's technically insightful. I focused on their business stories and learned a lot from this video.

ARM and qualcomm have common interests. One is the major partner of the other . They will both win and find the equilibrium

Hopefully they settle soon with a mutual agreement since they the ARM AI PC is having other problems; like those Qualcomm ARM AI PCs didn't do as well recently in sales and the Windows PRISM isn't working that good in performance.

Why CDNS is the winner in this legal battle? I do not see a strong connection/reasoning here in the video. what did I miss? thanks

ARM seems greedy. Image owning a license for an engine design, a car manufacturer uses that license to build an engine value at $10,000, and the royalty is 40% = $4000. You pay the license owner the $4000, and then suddenly when that engine is put in a car with a total value of $50,000, the license owner wants 20% of that $50,000 = $10000. Greedy, and silly.
@mrmo3379Ай бұрын
Yep ARM is definitely being greedy. They are taking a leaf out of apples book and trying to extract extra money that they are not entitled to

So don’t buy ARM or QCOM buy Cadence instead?

Arm has no future in windows laptop sector without Qualcomm. The Oryon second generation is better than x925 in performance and a lot better in respons time because of no L3 cash, check the speedometer web browsing results, is day and night difference. Qualcomm is the only company that can compete with apple processors.

out of control greed. Hopefully this will accelerate Arm's obsolescence, and the transition to RISC-V; then again this may takes years or....
