Forgot to mention that Harren the Black also ruled the Iron Islands.

@Mrprince4245 the Riverlands hadn't been their own kingdom for quite some time before Aegon showed up, the grandfather of Harren had conquered it from the Storm kings, who in turn had overthrown the last river kings centuries before that.

@kevinneutzling826717 күн бұрын
Not really. The Ironborn were occupiers extracting as much wealth as they could from the Riverlands and encroaching on the Stormlands which is why Argillac tried to offer his daughter and some land as a buffer state to Aegon and kicked the whole conquest off.
@yassinemiri355514 күн бұрын
also dorne, the stormlands and the reach were going at it. The ironborn were against everyone. And each kingdom Was forged by blood (north and dorne) and each ruling house kept the crown by quenching rebellions and forcing peace between squabbling houses (like the brackens and Blackwood in the riverlands) throughout their respectives histories.
@Shovi_13 күн бұрын
No, they were not minding their own business, they were warring and killing each other constantly. The conquest by the Targaryens actually brought peace after.

@Shovi_ that's just Targaryen propaganda, there was just as much war after Aegons Conquest than before. Only the scale of war waged was magnified due to all the kingdoms being connected through a single ruler. Before the other kingdoms could just ignore their neighboring kingdoms when the waged war against each other, after they were duty bound to get involved in the conflict.

The Riverlands were not a kingdom. The 7 kingdoms were Dorne, The Reach, The Vale, The Stormlands, The Wasterlands, The North, and the Iron Islands. Your video loses all credibility.

You're almost right. The iron islands and the riverlands were one kingdom known as the kingdom of islands and rivers.

The river lands are in fact a kingdom. Originally because the targa couldn’t conquer dorn. After dorn joined willingly it was 8 kingdoms but they chose to just keep calling it 7 heck if I know why

Crownlands?
@andrepiresdias994622 күн бұрын
The Crownlands were splitted between the neighbor kingdoms, the north part were the jure to the king of the iron isles and the river lands, at least one in the west was a vassal to the kingdom of the Rock, some of the blackwater area were vassal to the Gardeners and the south were mostly vassal to the storm kings. The Crownlands became to be what they are today after Aegons conquest, and they became direct vassals to the Targaryen
@tmwk__19 күн бұрын
That's why Aegon the Conqueror used the Crownlands as his starting point. Plus, it was close to Dragonstone. He could establish his base of operations and begin his conquest. There was nothing to resist him from Dragonstone there. It was literally the little crack in the rocks he crawled through to get into mainland Westeros.
