This mealworms video shows an interesting and welcome change to the interactions between bluebirds and starlings - the bluebirds are standing their ground. Instead of flying off in a panic when the starlings arrive, the bluebirds for the most part don't retreat. They stay near the feeder, and even stay on the feeder, sharing space with the starlings.
Also, for the first time, the local mourning doves put in an appearance. Over the space of a few minutes almost a dozen of them strolled into the picture. I had no idea we had so many mourning doves in the area. In fact, this is the first time they've ever shown up in our mealworm videos. Because of that I gave them some screen time, even though they never ate any of the mealworms.
