I feel original artistic edits cannot be replaced by AI. Apart from the monetary benefits one may see in photography, I get my soul rejuvenated by pursuing it! Superb video as always Christian 💯 Your workflow is the best & I adopt the same 🙏 All the best 👍

Good idea for a video. I prefer the AI, but also agree that without be able to target specific areas, you lose artistic control.

Hi Christian, excellent Videos, like all of yours. I think its important to develop your own skills....its kind of a complete process from scouting to make a photo, and its finished for me at least with the printing.

Hi Sandro, thanks for commenting! I agree, its just part of being a photographer at this point that you know how to develop your photo further with software! Also, at least to me, editing is just as much fun as shooting the image :-)

Thanks for the comparison. I personally like the Lightroom version much better, since it looks more realistic than the "AI" did. Also no AI can ever change any artists workflow, because every photo is unique and only the photographer knows what is best for each photo. 😊

Great Video, thanks for the comparison. I enjoy taking photos but have no knowledge editing pictures. Rather than just shooting JPEG, I have started shooting RAW. Comparing the results, I would be happy with the AI result as I have no photo editing experience and can see that the learning curve would be quite steep with Lightroom or other programs. Just learning what to tweak, when and what they do would be a long process for a beginner. Probably an unpopular verdict, but for me, I would go AI and spend more time with my camera learning composition rather than editing.

This is a useful comparison. Most reviewers just seemed bowled over by Radiant. I'm just trying it out but it's a mixed bag. On portraits it improved some of them, in ways I'd find difficult as I am not into portrait editing, but some of them it ruined, as it didn't perceive the intent behind picture. I tried it on some landscapes of Scotland, and at first glance the results looked stunning, but then I realised it was actually making them all look like they were taken in California - and the light just isn't like that there. OK, I could change the sliders, but then I can do that in full editing programs. The Radiant versions were quite useful in suggesting editing improvements, e.g. bringing up the exposure on certain shots a bit more than I tend to, but I'd want to do it myself rather than relying on AI. I don't think Radiant is for people who are actually interested in developing the skills and understanding of photography editing in order to realise their own artistic vision for their pictures - it's just sort of lazy and hence unsatisfying. Radiant could be useful for holiday snaps and the like that you don't want to spend a lot of time over, but it would have to be much cheaper to make it worthwhile. Maybe the promised success of their current massive marketing drive will enable them to reduce the price by about two-thirds.

Thanks for the fun comparison. I played with the free trial of Radiant Photo and concluded that it was an expensive tool for someone with little vision or imagination. For those people who are happy with the AI result, it is fast. But if someone wants to start tweaking the results, then they would be far better off to learn how to use all the tools in any good editing software. How do I upload my version? I've been enjoying your videos. Keep 'em coming. Thanks.

Thanks for commenting! I agree, radiant photo does deliver fast, acceptable results, but its better to learn editing to get more precise results done! You can upload your photo to google drive or dropbox and then share the link here :-)

I think Radiant Photo gives a good starting point, but I will still do my workflow.

Good idea but perhaps using the English version of the app would be more beneficial. It's hard to follow along and repeat the steps because the UI is different.

Spent more time on AI. I was thinking that AI would do the work?

Why was the AI scared to compete in a photo editing contest against the professional? Because it knew it would pixelate away in comparison!

While there may be a case for AI editing, I think it still has a long way to go unless the image is very simple! I will stick to Lightroom!

I agree, relying completely on AI for editing is still a bit too risky. Having all the control over the settings feels much better

sfter 5 minutes of using software in, what?, german?!? and wandering around trying things to see what they do, I do not need this as I have lots of experience doing this on my own. I watch these videos to learn from someone who has already gained insight. This trying the sliders without knowing anything about their use is childish at best and an exploitation of our attention to gain youtube watch time at worst. Honestly, you couldn't get this software to work in english and a computer voice is butchering the english words on top of that? This is ludicrous. Have you taken a german video and had it translate itself into english and left it at that?!?! Awful...

Depends on the situation I would say. If you need fast results and are not familiar with editing ,this can be quite helpful
