The animals can understand tone not necessarily words. It's the tone that's probably making Charlie feel left out. Emus do calm down as they get older tho.

I, (being Canadian) would carry a Goalie's hockey stick - and let Bree kick that - and if she tried it twice, she'd see that a hockey stick can 'kick' back.

manifold has a good point. You see Bree knows that kicking works. You just need to undo that. She can easily learn that kicking doesn't work, and it can be done without hurting her. you just need a poke stick. Not a sharp one, but just enough. She will learn that a kick means that she wants to get poked. She'll stop.

Daniel includes Charlie each time when around the animals so Charlie thinks you will be the same. Emus are very friendly n curious creatures when raised with people that share time with them. Pet every so often, he is a cool addition to your array of animals. No more baby goat pajama party.😢 Love your new baby donkeys. When is Fancy n Freedom coming back???? Kelce is such a pretty dog. Charlie is not a troublemaker. The creature just wants a treat! He’s witnessing everybody else get several treats! Emus are curious creatures, Especially if they think that you’re missing out. In my opinion, Bri is the troublemaker because she’s a kicker! That’s easy to break. She just needs a poke stick when you’re around her. A kick equals a little poke, she’ll stop. Donkeys learn fast. She will realize that kicking don’t work anymore. It gets undesirable results. Probably won’t take more than a week. but you can’t change how you treat her otherwise She will realize the only time that she gets poked is right after she kicks. Donkeys learn pretty quick when it comes to that stuff. Right now she’s a potential liability . I saw Daniel’s post. I’m really glad that it worked out for you folks. Hope you didn’t get too much water, but I’m sure you got more than you needed. Nobody likes twister storms

I agree with everybody else Charlie just needs some loving and treats just like the other animals. Please keep Charlie and lying when you're at the animal pens. Charlie just wants your earrings anything sparkly you have on. Once you learn that just leave them off for a little while and offer him treats and some loving and you will see he will be your best friend.
