Trent not practicing is different than Aiyuk. Trent has a ton of wear and tear already and knows his job better than the coaching staff. As for being a hold out, his original contact had him making starting top 10 QB money and he restructured for a chance at a ring in 2023. If they wanted him back this year they were going to have to pay him, and they did. He just didn’t need the preseason wear and tear. He pretty much plays every game in pain. He’d be playing right now if the team was in contention but they aren’t. 🤷🏽‍♂️

On the Purdy interception…he (Kyle too) did not need to call that play at that time. We were driving the ball and eating the clock on that drive. We should’ve been going for first downs. Why that play call?? The short passes we’re working.

Purdy shouldn't have thrown that pass because JJ is a physical WR but not speedy, agile and athletic enough to go after that ball aka why he's not a true WR1 and isn't paid as one. Rams came to stop JJ and they were successful and Deebo proved he isn't even worth a WR2 spot on the team and is definitely over paid, that was evident yesterday, this whole season and in the SB loss.

It's easy for lots of people to say Purdy shouldn't have thrown the pass but none of us were on the field and in that moment when you have to make a split-second decision. I wonder if eveything went to plan then would the comments change to what a great pass that was, I would say probably not..... Purdy is still a young QB, still learning his trade, and no one is perfect 100% of the time. All the great QBs had a bad game or even a not so good season at some point in their career.

I see your logic. But we were moving the ball on that drive. Kyle needed to keep doing what was working for Purdy…like the short pass or maybe pull it down and run. Whatever…it was a bad gamble. Brock has been having an issue all season where he continuously overlooks the underneath stuff to go for the bigger plays that have a lower percentage of success. It needs to stop. He no longer takes what the defense gives him and is trying to force it too much. Enough is enough. He's playing himself out of that big contract.

I don’t want to play the blame game. I feel like the intention was to run it back one more year with this core of players, and that was the mistake. Now moving into next season they can’t have that same mentality and are going to have to make tough decisions. I think they try and trade Deebo or cut him, build the run game around Mason, resign Greenlaw and Huff we saw the impact both of them on the field make. Make building the D-line a priority and stop signing a bunch of old vets.

Injuries, especially to the most expensive players and probowlers, average at best o-line play and SB hangover loss in OT is why this year the 9ers were barely a borderline playoff team. Need to upgrade the oline and dline in the off season through draft and FA, maybe upgrade DC & ST coaches if possible. BA, TW & even CMC getting all that money and not playing was the nail in the coffin this season. JJ step up but clearly not a WR1 & Deebo after the SB disappointment and sucking this season proves he's not WR1 material either and has regressed thus not worth his expensive contract and likely traded next season or needs to take a pay cut to stay. Purdy can still be a top 3 QB if the oline is upgraded and BA TW & the running game (CMC, Mason) come back healthy and play well, he's definitely a top 10 NFL QB and should be paid so consider Dak got paid 60M/yr & is a much lesser QB. 9ers could save some money through negotiations this off season on Purdys new contract since the team as a whole perform less than expected compare to last season's SB run due to mostly injuries (and some other unfortunate personal mishaps) to their top and most expensive players is really what happened and failed this season.. not every season is going to be lucky or injury free is what happens in the NFL.

D Campbell was slow as a snail. He got smoked in coverage all year and most of us cringed to watch him out there. Then this BS! Cut that cancer out today. I can't believe any team would want him on their squad. Deebo let everyone down this year but I think it's mainly bc CMC wasn't out there to free him up some more. With CMC back next year I expect Deebo to bounce back but the minute CMC gets hurt you'll see Deebos stats drop off to what they were this year. I say rest purdy, Trent, greenlaw, warner, kittle, punni etc..And see what guys we wanna keep next year. Move up in the draft and grab Trents replacement etc. Purdy isn't worth 45+ imo. 40 max. So when he gets 50 or 60 I might just throw up. Without CMC Purdy is middle of the pack QB, so if CMC gets hurt next year Purdy stats will drop off just like Deebo!

Matt I enjoy listening to you but on this occasion I think you are flat wrong. You say the reason for the season going bad is because of the head coach and the General Manager. First that is such an erroneous cliche. You cannot simply say the guy in charge is to blame. Neither of them dropped a pass, neither of them committed offensive pass interference in the fourth quarter when the ball was being thrown to someone else, neither of them overthrew Juan . Those were player mistakes pure and simple. They were not coached to do those things. We have had a very unfortunate season largely because of injuries. The bottom line is the players have not performed well. Far too many penalties, especially dumb penalties like offensive players moving prior to the snap, defensive lineman lining up in the neutral zone. Stuff you expect from high school sophomores but definitely not from all-pro veterans. Veterans who skip camp and then are mediocre in the first 3 games and get hurt on top of that. I am not saying the coaches are blameless but jeeez, get real! lt is that the players are not playing very well and the tougher the moment the worse they do. They seem more concerned about their social media fame and their salary not their team mates, the fans, their profession. We all know that historically they have played better so why didn't they this year.

😂 Injuries was major part of the problem. Hold out was another distraction. Draft was another problem. Not addressing the O-line, except for Puni. The O-line was avg. OT William is an accident waiting to happen. At 35 yrs old, n no replacement. Aother issue is D-line. Using re-treads, hard to build chemistry n consistency. Letting DT DJ jones walk. Sign DT Hargrave, who isn't a run stopped. WR Pearsall doesn't appear to be the answer, so far. Trey draft lost a lot picks. Another issue, Kyle not using or developing backups. Cmc was over used last yr. Mason was here last yr. New DC could be an issue too. Maybe, Kyle scheme n ideas aren't new anymore. Too many coaches has seen his ideas. Does Kyle need a break to re-charge. Niners keeping vets, instead of keeping younger players. On Deebo, Nightcap Ocho says the way NFL works. Your opportunities are reduce when team thinks your old or lost a step. You might not, actually be really slower, but team wants to force player out. A lot of Niner players need to be replaced or kept at reduce salary. Let Brock play on 5th yr.option. He's not elite without help..Can he great without help. Niners success means need more help from draft n UFAs or FAs or trades. Nothing from last yr draft/UFAs. This yr UFA DT Anderson looks like keeper. This yr draft has Puni n Green n Mustafa. Hope for Cowing n Pearsall. Niners should spent last 3 games developing younger players. Rest starters. Playing Williams or Bosa or Greenlaw doesn't make sense. No way to get to playoffs. See if backups should be kept or younger players are needed.

Only reason he’s playing is for money and respect. Likely he gave a 100% to the team all season just to be tossed aside. Then was expected to snap to attention and save the team that made the decision to bench him. Why not start Campbell, then rotate Dre in until you know he’s back to 100% which most who know football knew was going to take all season. This notion that people don’t matter, just the team gets a little outdated once you’ve been around long enough. The game was meaningless. They were already out of it. Dre was never going to be able to play every snap his first game back so no reason to purposely disrespect Campbell and then except him to save your ass. But that’s just a guess. Since nobody has bothered to interview him, for all we know he left because his mother died. 🤷🏽‍♂️
