First round of the war within melee tier list in m+ is here with plenty of data and high keys being done and while some of the specs were pretty much expected to be S tier, we also have a couple of surprises!
Our war within m+ tier list is based on data from warcraft logs and raider.io as we try to be as objective as possible so by all means, this is NOT a personal tier list, we’re sure your spec can top the charts in any group you get in!

I’m having a blast on my Unholy DK and Sun Ret Paladin. Two of the best cleave specs in the game right now despite one being a lot easier to play than the other lol Ret is definitely S-tier for overall mythic+ damage. You will rarely not see a Ret not #1 in overall.

I think the reason blizzard is nerfing fury so much is they are probably trying to transfer the power away from bladestorm and make other abilities do more and also to buff MT over slayer. Problem is slayer was designed off of bladestorm for arms and fury

I hadn't played Hunter since I came back to the game about a year ago. I'd heard that Survival was a really fun spec, but it wasn't tuned well. Now that they seem to have it in a good place, I decided to try it out, and man is it fun. This may be my new main.

It's really fun, just it needs some tweaks for sure. Better scaling with mastery or crit since Survival has a lot of crit buffs, and maybe make sentinel owl replace our first wildfire bomb or bet a new button to add that we can properly place instead of just "Well guess whenever the tank stops I'll press wildfire bomb." also make it so tanks can see it :)

Pala is A. Great Damage, Great tools.. burst every 30 seconds, easy to Play and perform. In all m+ runs the retris performed well.

If we need to commit all the resources of a team so that a class, which only has one really viable options, can perform, then this class is just mid/top tier at best. Yes, breath build is very strong, but you can only pull it off with an organised team, pulling on your own CD timers, and buffing you. Enhancement Shaman dont need that to perform. Paladin neither, same for fury warrior.

I’d put Arms into A, and Ret into S. Ret, when played right and the player is using their full utility stack, is more of a game changer than any other melee DPS. They can carry a group better than any other DPS class. Their only real issue is 80% of ret paladins are bad, and never use BoS, BoP, cleanse or do any off heals or LoH saves

Ok, so this is a ranking for Top M+ Dungeons, right. But, what about leveling and doing old dungeons, etc? Should I consider those Classes ranked as C too weak for solo-leveling and doing decent damage on those old dungeons (to a point that it would not help the party)?

When it comes to lvling and doing old dungeons, ignore all of these rankings videos. Any class & spec will do unless you're really aiming for the highest keys - this has been the case for some time now.

Quick answer, frost is easier to play than unholy for M+. It requires like no setup. Both however do require massive pulls.

I've been enjoying the festering scythe build a lot. Consistent, self-sustaining damage for every pull even if it's somewhat smaller. But it absolutely TANKS mobs in massive pulls with high crit. They disintegrate.

I assume this was before this week's reset. Fury as Mountain Thane is slapping. I dont think its enough better than slayer to move out of B Tier because bladestorm has more use than just damage so not having it anymore sucks. But Mountain Thane i think does more damage than slayer. And it seems to me to do more ST boss damage inside of M+ but not Raid.

Hm, I wonder if Frost DK is at the top because of numbers (the amount of damage delt or absorbed) rather than the feel of the spec itself. I am happy that they are at the top. I just wonder if a lot of top Dks have the same talents and maybe think that 2-handed could use some touchup. Not saying that they need it but it would be nice if DW wasn't scaling the damage better all the time.

Sub rogue is gonna stay right there in D tier lol. I have GB, SoB, and Mist timed on 11 as Sub, and it's a pretty miserable affair. The Black Powder buffs are worthless because the M+ Sub hero talent literally yoinks Blade Flurry from OL and the last thing a Flurry build wants to do is press AoE finishers. The other hero talent that DOES use BP is super uncomfortable to play, and far from strong enough to catch up with stuff like Ret.

Unholy DK is S tier in some dungeons, but you have to pull like crazy. Saw a video and the UDK was doing 15M dps which compensating the low single target

i love my druid. i love the skins from feral but man feral is in a bad place for years. they cant figure out how to balance the dots in m+. give us a bite hero tree. thats only does direct damage

God knows how enhancement shaman is A tier. It’s one of the worst classes to play as melee; as a returning player, it’s the only Alt I’ve contemplated deleting. I personally find it inconsistent with damage and managing resources/procs. I raided Cata & Mists with it and now it feels like a chocolate teapot. 😕 My main Assassination Rogue is great, the Havoc Demon Hunter I made is good, the Windwalker Monk I have is good. The shammy is disappointing I might just practice follower dungeons as a healer at this rate.

High m+ players don't need these, I reckon the majority of people that watches these tier lists are within the +7 range. So based on what you said, Outlaw is doing numerically better than Assa but is somehow ranked lower than Assa despite being able to perform better than Assa. Make it make sense, shit like this is why dumbasses always take "meta specs" despite other specs being able to perform just as well or even better if piloted well. I'm talking as someone who's been playing off-meta specs this season in +10-12's keys.

Only reason DK is S tier is because theyre comped with aug and Priest (Power infusion). otherwise they wouldnt be anywhere near S tier.
