Romero is Mustafi 2.0. I remember in 2020/21 season when we started Smith-Rowe, we had a run of 9 really good games heading to Anfield, and ARS fans all of a sudden started talking about beating Liverpool "because where we are now vs where we used to be" and we got absolutely slapped. Tottenham needs to understand the difference between comparing yourself to yourself vs comparing yourself with other teams in the league. Exactly, Spurs have improved relative to where they were but that very different to now being on a level playing field with the Arsenal’s and and City’s of this world. Arsenal are clearly a better team, they’ve even improved compared to last season no matter what people want to say (far more adaptable, more control, far better at defending transitions etc) so I can only see one winner. Spurs are headed in the right direction and it’s no coincidence this happens when they stopped trying to be something they were not by hiring high profile coaches like Mourinho and Conte.
