Reasons why the saboteur was not Russia: 1. Nord Stream 1 cost US$ 15 billion and Nord Stream 2 US$ 11 billion. It does not make sense to destroy such a hugely beneficial (to Russia) project costing so much money and providing Russia with a massive amount of foreign exchange, when it would be infinitely easier just to turn the gas taps off. If it doesn't make sense, there is usually another explanation. Another way of looking at it is like Russia committing economic suicide. This is the most powerful argument which makes all DW analysis pale into insignificance. 2. US President Joe Biden and US Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland are both quoted on video as saying if Russia invades Ukraine, then the US would destroy Nord Stream 1 and 2. Joe Biden actually repeated himself regarding what he would do. This are videos which anybody on the web can view. This begs the question if DW infers that the President of the US and his Under Secretary did not say this? 3. If Russia were the saboteur, this fact would be broadcast all over the world in double quick time in an effort to paint Russia as an international terrorist, operating in Danish waters. The West would have had a field day. This did not happen. There was just a wall of silence. Investigations were begun. Even Sweden said they knew who did it but would not say anything "for security reasons." And then nothing. Everything fell silent. Again, if it were Russia, everyone would know about it and Russia would be berated as a pariah state. Later I will post why it had to be the US who was the guilty party which carried out the demolition.

Who cares? 1. Germany has elected the Greens into the government, who - together with most other parties - have worked to wean us off Russian gas, albeit not so quickly. 2. Putin had _already_ been slowly turning off the gas tap more and more for a whole year, with all sorts of flimsy excuses. 3. Russia wanted to blackmail us with gas since at least 2021. It didn't succeed, as we were able to build new LNG terminals in a very short time. 4. yes, it may be that Ukraine, the US or another Western country destroyed the pipeline to prevent Germany from backsliding and negotiating with Russia again later, when the war is over. - But that was never an option, because we already wanted to switch to 100% renewable energy. and now read carefully... Putin knew that all this was going to happen. He knew that this moment would be the last chance for him to blackmail us and start this war. He knew that the pipeline would soon be unusable anyway. So he could destroy it himself to plunge Europe into total chaos. He did not succeed in doing that. He tried to destabilize the European power grid by destroying the Ukrainian infrastructure. Ukraine was already part of the European grid at that time. Power outages would have been a real possibility. He destroyed the Kakhovka Dam and shot himself in the foot because his beloved Crimea stopped getting water. Now he's trying the same thing with the grain deal - and he's going to fail again. Don't you see the pattern? He is ready to destroy his own toy like a child, because if he can't have it, no one else can either.

The explosions caused a major gas shortage in Ukraine and led to accusations that Russia was responsible. In 2014, a gas pipeline in Bulgaria was damaged by a blast. The blast caused a gas leak and forced the pipeline to be shut down. The cause of the blast was never determined, but there was speculation that it was sabotage. It fits their MO perfectly. They use gas for extortion, I'm happy we now get our gas from more reliable sources.

Why does everyone think it was done by government? Think, who has the Most to Gain? Who has ample experience in diving at that depth? Who has the explosive knowledge to have successfully accomplished the desired result? Who has the most to gain? I’d put my $1 bet on oil & gas industry; either one working alone or a couple or more in concert together. Politically the industry had the ability to apply more pressure on the government ease restrictions and or implement projects that were facing a lot of resistance. They also had a profit motive by cutting the Russian supply. Not to mention they had access to highly sensitive (not known to the public) information on security. Watched to 9:35 and something jumped into my attention. 80m depth means decompression chamber. That Ukrainian boat, Andromeda, has, by no means, the capacity to carry something like that. They were detected by the Danish patrol boat P524 Nymfen above the route of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline at the site of the sabotage. 26 photos were taken of the Russian ship in this location

5:21 Nord Stream was destroyed at the same time as the launch of the gas line to Poland from a competitor of Russia. Just prior to this, Russia had stopped delivery of gas to Germany via Nord Stream. They had built the gas lines so deep that only a state actor could have placed the 4 bomb sites and they would have had to know details about the locations that few besides Russia would know. The expert said he thinks it was a statement to Poland that they can't trust an underwater gas pipeline and thus they should stay dependent on Russian gas.

The US had long tried to sell its gas to Germany both for a geopolitical and commercial interests. With the war on Ukraine they were proven right, on the geopolitical side. Russia was using the pipeline as a leverage. The alternative of liquidified gas from the US is very expensive in comparison. The investment necessary for this infrastructure is huge, some fine would not be a sufficient motive to destroy it. The pipeline blew out at the precise moment in which Russia's competitors could begin selling the norse alternative. To still have Russia as a potential responsible is absurd. The US gave to it no importance, and Norway said the Russians did it, however, Russia Immediately asked for an international investigation (only when it's convinient to them, they do that). Certainly some enormous arguments were left out of this report.

Rising gas prices (either for their own financial gain or to try and get other countries to divert resources from Ukraine to social spending), threatening European countries with plausable deniability, creating discontent in EU countries, creating discussions in the EU (that may break the unity of the grouping).

The people who blew up this pipeline are the only people in the world who could have blown up this pipeline and received basically a “so what” from Russia… The reason not much is said about the pipeline or the fact that it was destroyed is the people who blew it up don’t want you to know the termination of that pipeline was the point of the conflict to begin with. Find out who has stepped in to replace Russia as the primary supplier of LNG to the EU and you’d probably have a safe bet at least.
