Melanie Martinez - ‘Mrs. Potato Head’ was the hardest song to write on the album. I had the idea for it for a while, just the title and the comparison to how you can, you know, change the pieces of Mrs. Potato Head’s face, and how that can double as a meaning for changing how you look. I think it was the hardest song to write just because I didn’t want it to come off as, you know, bashing people who get plastic surgery in any way, because that wasn’t the point. The whole point was, changing how you look isn’t gonna fix your insecurities.

Mrs. Potato Head always makes me cry because due to social media children grow up earlier tham expected and want to be ""perfect"", commiting into damaging behaviors such as eating disorders, using certain clothes or in some even makeup, as well as worrying just generally about how they look. Which is alright but do it in a healthy way and when you're supposed to, not when you're still a kid, you should enjoy your childhood because you will miss being a kid and free of society stereotypes
