Personally, I think building both is the way to go. In most cases, we'll always have varying weaknesses in each MOC floor. And while it is expensive, it all really just boils down to time once you can build them both.

Very true! And more DoT character are bound to be released in the future as well. I only made the video for those that were wondering about who they might want to consider for a day 1 Kafka team. But you can't really go wrong with either 1 of them. They both will work really well

You WILL need both. And both will directly benefit and in turn be benefited by Kafka. We also still have no idea what the real impact of Luka's bleed mechanic will be. It is reported to be the most damaging DoT effect in the game.

Yeah Luka should have a more powerful DoT. But it's single target. Sampo has more spread with a slightly weaker DoT. I like they balanced it out between them. Levelling 3 brand new characters is expensive. So a lot of people wanted to know who to level first. Just so they can get started

The video was made for people that can only build one right now because it's expensive. But yes both is the way to go. I'm building both. . . . . But I chose Sampo first because I have a bunch of eidolons for him. Luka is next. Also nice Bailu I'm jealous

@PancakeBreakfast Oh yeah I understood the intent of the video Sadly lost 50/50 to Bailu on Kafka banner, still managed to get Kafka but a few more jades were lost in the way I personally don't mind spending a few days building new characters since Star Rail is my comfort game rn Log in, do dailies, farm some materials/relics and, if available, events Either way I appreciate the video Wish great success on the channel 😎

That's what I'm doing. I hopefully get Universal Market soon since at S5 it gives you a 100% chance to inflict Burn on anyone who hits the preservation unit that has it equaling 80% of the characters Def for 2 turns. Seeing as my Gepard has 3000+ Def it's a great DoT lol. So the team above can easily have all four DoTs and the best shielder in the game

For me both MoC have a lot of weakness to cover being able to have multiple Dot unit can help the run much faster. Personally I will build Luka as hybrid Atk Percent and breaker effect.

yeah definitely a good choice. I am waiting to see what eidolons I get from the Kafka banner before deciding. But either way aiming for break effect sub stats. And if I was building Luka I would also be going for attack% like you said

I’ll be building luka over sampo because - I already have a wind dot in shampoo built💀 - physical dot strongest dmg dot - variety of dots good future proofing - will be an excuse to continue to pull on kafka banner

Yup from what I've read Luka should have the stronger DoT damage. It's unfortunate it's single target. But I guess that's called balancing right. Would be kind of broken if he had spread damage like Shampoo as well. And the future proofing is very valid. MOC going to be a lot easier with a wind and a physical DoT in your back pocket

@@JoouiMusic nice! I ended up with E1 Luka and e3 Sampo. So I decided to level Sampo and use his signature cone. I didn't have a levelled wind character. So it checks 2 boxes for me. Kafka at e0 with 'Goodnight Sleep Well.' How does the signature Luka cone work for you?

Update: got Luka e4 now and got Kafka’s LC also🤩 at the cost of skipping blade, luocha and silver wolf… Luka’s LC works darn gooddd if you focus on luca relics with effect hit rate at a minimum of 67%!

A lot of people think having a support like Asta really helps the team and might be the best team. Because of her speed buff and DoT. But having both isn't a bad idea. It's mostly expensive for a day 1 Kafka. 3 whole new characters is like 12 million credits without even talking about light cones. But working towards both eventually is what a lot of people will probably do so they can potentially sub out team members for certain scenarios Edit: I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to try the 3 DoT main squad though at some point

@@PancakeBreakfast I remember some leakers say that if you reach the correct amount of speed with all the three (Kafka, Sampo and Luka), Asta is a loss of DPS compared to any of those two and even Pela is actually better. Obviously it takes more effort, that's why I said "bis" between the ".

@@hak5424 it all really depends. That would require a lot of lucky stats on 3 different characters. I personally would not have 3 different characters with lucky enough speed sub stats to get that done. At least right now. But it's definitely worth a shot if we have the speed relics available to give it a try. 1 thing to remember is pre-release data doesn't always factor in every variable. That's how a lot of people overbuilt Silver Wolf for EHR and don't deal enough damage with her. That's why the true tests come on release. To either confirm pre-release data. Or discover something new. Love the comments by the way. I always enjoy friendly theorycrafting

LOL. "Light cone banner". True! I only went over who people might want to level up first. Since it's expensive. I ended up with e0 Kafka, E1, E3 Sampo. I decided to level up Sampo. Because if I get another Sampo I'll get his best eidolon. And I didn't have a levelled Wind type yet.

Oh nice! A lot of people seem to like the 3 main DoT team idea. You'll have to let me know how it goes. I personally am trying 2 DoT and a support first. The numbers seem to be better on paper so far. But I will try 3 main DoT once I can level up another DoT. 3 brand new characters is too expensive in materials for me right now Lol

Asta might be her best support option. She gives speed which is important for Kafka. As well as has her own DoT. I also like Tingyun for the attack buff. Because DoT scales off of attack. I also like Silver Wolf and Pela which both provide defense shred.

Im a sampo main and I've already got all his traces maxed out and i got his e1 on standard few days ago. I got luka in a 1 pull thankfully i was lucky to get him since im on 61 pity and since i didnt get blade on my main account I'll be saving for dragon danheng. Im sad i can't get sampo eidolons but I'll get them when he's back 😭. I say build both since they are both amazing characters.

Nice! Gambling with pity is risky, but feels good when it works out. He sometimes rotates into the starlight shop too! I'd level both only if you truly truly want to. The expectation. Is that Kafka is the main DPS right now for DoT. But that eventually we will get a 5 star DoT in the future that focuses on being a main DPS DoT. And Kafka becoming a sub dps dot now. Pushing the 4 stars to the side a little. Because Kafka actually plays like a sub dps. But just so happens to trigger more damage than the 4 stars we currently have. Her skill acts like a sub dps would. Dealing some damage. But most importantly, detonating active dots. Imagine a 5 star in the future that has a skill that is focused on major damage while applying a dot. Then Kafka detonates it after. At least that's the idea. However could be a while before a character like that comes. So levelling both isn't really a bad choice if people can manage it

Yeah that's actually a really good team. Only thing you could change is Luka. But if you have high Eidolon Sampo just keep the Sampo. Asta is actually the best support for Kafka right now in my opinion.

The problem with that build is that it's all electric types. You won't have e very good weakness break spread. So you are going to have a lot of trouble beating enemies because most teams require several damage types, rather than 1 damage type. Silver Wolf is a character that can make mono damage style teams work. Because she has a unique ability that can give the enemy a weakness associated with your team. But besides her mono damage type teams do not work very well unfortunately.

Once Kafka and Luka come out people will be able to IRL test the 3 main DoT team. And we can truly find out how well it works. Because NGL I want to try the 3 main DoT team as well. Sounds goofy and fun

Serval is a solid option. It's just that she isn't as focused on DoT as Luka and Sampo. She's arguably better than them on a team that isn't DoT focused though. Because she likes to crit. But there is a reason she is also included in Kafka's banner. She still works on a DoT team too.

Serval isn't bad. She just isn't as strong as Sampo/Luka, specifically on a Kafka team. She is arguably better on normal teams that aren't DoT because she likes to crit. But as you said she overlaps lightning so unless you have Silver Wolf it's a bit rough. Why don't you like Sampo/ Luka if you don't mind me asking?

@@PancakeBreakfast answering your question. 1. For Sampo, it's because he breaks laws many times and he lies too. I don't like people who disrespect the law and others' feeling. 2. For Luka, I know this is obvious for hating a character that hasn't even out yet. But he kinda looks like a talkative type that can be annoying somehow and possibly be reckless too, also I don't like him for some reasons that I don't know how to explain in english since english isn't my 1st tongue (also pardon me if my grammar looks awful) These are my opinions tho, :)
