Thanks for comprehensive definitions but just gotta correct you on polygamy. Polygamy is very specifically one partner with many women. Poly = many. Gyny/gynae/Gyno = suffix for women. The singular partner is usally male, doesn't have to be but many polygamous societies existed long before the ENM movement across different parts of the world, mostly non-Western. And the multiple partners are women. Polyandry is the opposite - one woman (typically) with many men. Traditional polyandrous societies exist but they are few and far between compared to traditional polygamous societies. I would imagine that's why we have the term polyamory because that doesn't denote gender, it's just "many loves". And I would imagine the gender ratio is likely better in modern ENM relationship types, especially given the many different configurations of ENM, (from open to single poly to poly hinges to polycules etc).
