I'm gonna throw out kind of a long shot suggestion as to why the August 7th show may have intentionally been skipped. I was going through the contestants on that show on the wiki trying to figure out if there may be some question that was now seen to be in poor taste and found the $1,000 question asked to Denver Deseranno: "The slang word “gypped” means what?" Given that the question contains an ethnic slur, it wouldn't surprise me if either GSN or the show's distributor is no longer comfortable with the episode being aired, in a way that maybe wouldn't have caught their attention in 2008 when the episode was probably last re-run

In UK version of Millionaire, there are some episodes which skipped on Challenge (UK game show television channel) such as 1. One episode in Series 2 (1999) 2. One episode in Series 3 (1999) 3. Two episode in Series 4 (1999), featured a gap for premiering another show. 4. All christmas episode in Series 5 (1999) 5. First celebrity episode in Series 7 (2000) 6. Coronation Street special episode in Series 10 (2001) 7. Paul McCartney episode (2004)

So, GSN is actually skipping over an episode that has aired on the network in the past. Not going to lie, this bugs me quite a lot. Did they mistakenly skip over the episode? It also bugs me that we probably aren't going to hear the reason for why it's being skipped. I can at least think of why the August 1999 episodes and certain Celebrity Editions are skipped, but not this episode.

@@warosm That’s the best outcome I’m hoping for, the only problem is we’ll have to wait over a year for GSN to air it if that’s the case. If that isn’t the case, I wonder what the issue was for that episode.
