Jaun Elia (Urdu: جون ایلیا‎, 14 December 1931 - 8 November 2002) was a Pakistani Urdu-language poet, philosopher, biographer, and scholar. He was the brother of journalist and psychoanalyst Rais Amrohvi and journalist and philosopher Syed Muhammad Taqi, and husband of columnist Zahida Hina. He was fluent in Arabic, English, Persian, Sanskrit and Hebrew.

If you think so then read Nida Fazli, sudharshan fakir and Bashir Badr. You will know how much good they are. As far as Jon Alia is concern I find the poetry different in style and he hardly tried to polish their words. Apart from this generally he use limited words so audience can understand easily. In short he is different from other and have a unique style but it is totally wrong to say no contemporary poet is comparable to him. Ahmed Faraz is also his contemporary poet and they are so many great poets there
