A few things to note about a couple of words in those verses... "He" - In Greek, along with most of the world, pronouns are gender neutral. There is no he/she. The only way you can translate to English is by knowing the gender of the person the pronoun is referring to. "Word" - The Greek word is logos, which is very poorly translated as 'word'. Imagine all of the thoughts that go into the spoken word. Why did you choose to say that exact word? What meaning did you mean to convey by using that word? Etc... It is translated as 'word', but not in the literary sense. It's much deeper. It's all of the thought processes that went on before that word. The Jewish philosopher Philo, which lived and used this word around the time the Gospel of John was written, uses and describes this word relating to God in a wonderful way... in a way that you can't mistake the meaning of the word. He says that God's logos (word) regarding creation was like an architect that had designed a city in his mind, before any construction. It exist, but only in the mind of the architect. The architect's logos had debated with itself and reasoned with itself to figure out the best ways to build every aspect of the city, to achieve the desired outcome. Tertullian, who lived about a hundred years after the Gospel of John was written, uses logos in a very similar way. In a way that you can tell both men understood the word logos to mean the same thing. Tertullian is the guy who gets the credit for coining the word Trinity, by the way. He used the Latin word trinitas. Ironically enough, Tertullian was not a Trinitarian... nor did he believe in a Trinity. He believed that The Father existed before the Son, and that basically the Son was spawned out of the logos of the Father. Your logos... Imagine you are about to go on a trip. All of the planning and reasoning you do before leaving, is your logos. Which way will you go? Will you take the interstate or stick to the back roads? Will you make detours to avoid traffic? Etc. Logos is the internal debate and reasoning that happens within someone. Basically you talking to yourself, trying to figure things out. That said... the logos of God is not a "he". The logos of God or anyone else is an "it". John 1 describes God being alone, reasoning with Himself and figuring out all of the details pertaining the creation He was about to start. That plan was made and started, and eventually led to the pinnacle or apex of the whole entire plan... Jesus. The word was made flesh, means that the whole point of creation and the salvation of it had finally become a reality. Jesus is not the 'word' itself, but the 'word' was Jesus. "Plan" isn't the best word to use for translation either, but it helps to illustrate the point of logos. Jesus was not the plan, because the plan isn't anything. The plan only exist in the mind of God, and the mind of God... is God. However, when Jesus was born... now that whole plan of salvation has been realized. It's actually a reality, no longer just a plan. You'll probably dismiss everything I just said, but maybe not. Hope this helps.

Tons of people used the Greek tern rendered 'I am'. The Greek is 'ego eimi'. Google it. It just means a state of being. Acts 22:3 “I AM a Jew, born in Tarsus of Ci·liʹcia, No one becomes God just by using 'I am'. Actually NO. Jesus died on the cross. God cannot die He’s immortal. The SPIRIT inside Jesus was God , Jesus himself said “the spirit is what gives life , the flesh profiteth nothing” John 6: 63 And also “ for there will be no blood and flesh in heaven” When Jesus was on the cross the spirit left him …this is why Jesus said “my GOD , MY GOD why have you forsaken me” Please understand , Jesus in the human BODY was born in about the year 4 AD. Yes a spirit Body. That body is so awesome that no man can see it and live. Just think we can not look at the sun with the naked eye. And God made that with his power. As for Jesus, he was with God at the beginning. Beginning of what Colossians 1:15,16 tells us. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: See Jesus is the first thing God God made the firstborn. No it's the Hebrew plural form of Elohim, that "US and THEY" is used, you see the same thing happen in Genesis 5:2 God called them Adam. It's a grammatical misrepresentation of actual meaning. The words "US" and "OUR" are a reference to God and His Wisdom - Wisdom, God's Amon at the dawn of creation. Jesus before Genesis 1 was God himself. Because God is spirit he overshadowed Mary and she conceived Jesus in the flesh. God made himself a body and dwelt among men. Before Genesis he was Spirit.
