Pavel Dobra passed away on April 7, 2024. He was born in Bucharest, Romania on December 2, 1951 to his parents Alexandru and Maria Dobra. He was 1 of 8 children in his family. He loved his parents very much and had a special bond with his mother throughout his childhood. He lost his mother at an early age, but her legacy always lived in Pavel's heart.
Pavel completed his high school education in Bucharest Romanian and then served in the Romanian Army from 1970 to 1972. After his military service, Pavel worked in manufacturing and production in Bucharest for 10 years, successfully supervising a large team. He met the love of his life Ana Putan through church, and the two celebrated their wedding in Sebes Alba, Romania on July 29th, 1979.
Pavel was courageous in many things he did throughout his life. He left Romanian and moved his family to the United States in 1985, for a better life for his children. Once in the States, Pavel was a small business owner who worked tirelessly to provide for his family, as well as the ministry. He worked hard and went on to earn his Doctorate in Divinity and Theology. His lifelong passion was always for the Lord. As such, he started Casa Din Betania Ministries as a way to spread the Gospel of Jesus throughout the world. He was a member of Assemblies of God and the Philadelphia Romanian Pentecostal Church. He held many musical affiliations, most notably the Philadelphia Choir, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Praise and Worship group.
In addition to the dedication to his faith, Pavel dearly loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. He was an incredibly kind and supportive person with a generous spirit.
Pavel will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a man after God’s own heart. He loved making everyone laugh, and was always full of life. No matter who was around, Pavel always was able to connect with people through genuine compassion.
Pavel is survived by his wife Ana Dobra, his sons Alex and Daniel Dobra, his daughter Ana-Maria Dobra, and his grandchildren Ana-Marie, Audriana, Alexandru, Matthew, and Nicholas.
