Amenhotep 2 was the pharaoh of Exodus. The Exodus happened in 1446 BC that was within his 27 year reign during that time. The predecessor was Thutmose 3 his reign was 54 years and that fits in the timeline for Moses fleeing to Midian for forty years and the return of Moses after the death of the Pharaoh Thutmose 3. These pharaohs fit chronologically within the Bible. 1 Kings 6:1, Judges 11:26 and Acts 7.

Yes, Amenhotep Ii makes more sense. It is inconceivable that with all of Thutmosis Iii campaigning, he would have let a proto Israeli state survive. There are only 2 campaigns attributed to Amenhotep Ii in Syria in year 7 and 9 which some believe coincides with the Exodus. For the remainder of his reign he stayed at home.. As for building projects, Amenhotep governed Lower Egypt from Memphis during his father's reign and was known for his building projects in the Delta as well as his cruelty. He was not the first born son of Thutmosis Iii, who had three Syrian princess as wives, so a conflict between half brothers could have occurred. Amenhotep's mom was not a royal wife either. She was elevated in status when her son came to the throne.

In my view, the time period when the story of Musa AS is during the New Kingdom period of the 18th Dynasty which is also called the Thutmosid Dynasty. The Old Testament in 1 Kings 6:1 gives a date of the exodus which reads In the four hundred and eightieth[a] year after the Israelites came out of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, the second month, he began to build the temple of the Lord. Generally Bible scholars agree that the building of Solomon’s temple is around 960BC. 480 lunar years is equivalent to 465 Gregorian solar year which makes the dating of the exodus to 1425BC. Based on the Shaw Egyptian timeline, which is the more accurate and accepted timeline amongst Egyptologist, this is exactly the year of the demise of Thutmose iii, the warrior king of Egypt known as the Napoleon of Egypt. Nobody knows how this pharaoh died despite him being very famous and extremely powerful and violent. Hence in my view, pharaoh of the exodus is most likely Thutmose iii and the foster mother of Musa AS is most likely Hatshepsut, who was the daughter of one pharaoh, Thutmose I and the wife of another pharaoh Thutmose ii. Hatshepsut and Thutmose ii were siblings with Hatshepsut being the daughter of Thutmose I through his royal wife, Ahmose and Thutmose ii the son of Thutmose I through another wife, Mutnofret. They got married at a young age around 14 or 15 upon the death of their father Thutmose I. The incident of the rescue of Musa happened during the reign of Thutmose ii when Hatshepsut was queen. Based on the Quran the incident when Musa was recovered from the Nile is during the period of the reign of Thutmose ii when Hatshepsut was queen. She didn’t have a male heir and only had one daughter Neferure and having adopted Musa even though he was an Israelite it would have brought tremendous joy to her. The Bible calls the person who rescued Musa from the river as the daughter of pharaoh but the Quran calls her the queen of pharaoh. In the case of Hatshepsut she is both and the Quran points to the time when the incident happened which is when she was the queen of Thutmose ii after the death of her father Thutmose I. Hatshepsut’s husband Thutmose ii died young at the age of 30 and he had another son from another wife but the son was an infant at that time about 3 years old. This son would later grow up to be come Thutmose iii. Both Thutmose iii and Musa would have grown together in the royal household of pharaoh and would have known each other very well with Musa being older than Thutmose iii by many years, at least 10 years In trying to find Musa in the royal court of ancient Egypt, there is an interesting character in the court of Hatshepsut. His name was Senenmut which literally mean mother’s brother and in my view he is the likely candidate for Musa in household of pharaoh. He was a commoner who suddenly appeared to hold high office in the court of Hatshepsut. Such was his importance in the court of Hatshepsut that he was the main advisor, builder, architect, military head and many more. Two unused tombs were built for him, one in the valley of the kings near the tomb built for Hatshepsut and another one just outside the valley of the Kings. His parents and siblings were also accorded high treatment despite being commoners and he had three brothers and two sisters. The interesting thing is that he disappeared from the court of Hatshepsut in 1464BC in the 19th year of her reign 22 year reign. Perhaps this is when the incident where Musa had killed the Egyptian and thereafter later on fled to Madyan. Shortly after this the reign of Hatshepsut also came to an end and perhaps after this occurred the incident with the hairdresser and subsequent murder of Asiya / Hatshepsut in the hands of Thutmose iii. As a footnote late into the reign of Thutmose iii and that of his son Amenhotep ii, all traces of Hatshepsut was chiselled out in an attempt to erase entirely her existence from Egyptian records. Wallualam. This is just a theory.

You're confusing two pharaohs. The first pharaoh was the pharaoh of the oppression. Tuthmose. He is the one that Moses was raised with but later Moses grew out of favor with him and so Moses ran and hid out of the area for 40 years until pharaoh died. When Moses returns you have the second pharaoh Amenhotep II who is the pharaoh of the Exodus. And yes, Amenhotep II did have a first born son who died young and thus did not become king after him.

The Biblical city of the Exodus was Ramesses. We also know the probable author who wrote this. It was Moses and he was present at the time of the Exodus. No one has any idea of who wrote 1 Kings 6:1 and when or where it was written. We do know they weren't present when that fictional Temple dedication was made.

If you went to New York in its early years you would have found that it was called New Amsterdam. It is now called new York. The town of Rameses might well have had a different name in 1446 BC. This verse reveals that the book of Exodus was edited after the town was called Rameses.

@@bobgriffin316 Just who in 1200BC are the editors supposed to accommodate? The people are in Canaan and don't care a hoot what was going on in Egypt. About 1100 BC the Nile dried up and the capital moved to Zoan so it was a small window of time that the name change would have had any meaning. Then maybe 1 Kings 6:1 was edited, and it was only 300 years not 480. Temple dedication numbers were just for show.

Scholars will swear it was Amenhotep, Thutmose, Rameses and finally some will say that it does not matter. There is another school that says it is all fiction. There are many links in the symbology of Judaism and ancient Egypt that makes it look like something happened back then to make one people heavily cloaked in Egyptian culture leave to Canaan to make their own culture. Historical evidence indicates that it might not have been Rameses and it might not have involved hundreds of thousands of people, but there was probably an exodus and it was put to writing hundreds of years later.

Follow clues...Exodus 1:11 Pharoah built cities Pithom and Pi Raamses..Pithom means House of God Atum..Pi Raamses means House of Ramses... Ramses II the Great built and finished the cities his father Seti I began....Exodus 7:1 Pharoah worship only one God and not Moses God... All pharoahs before Amenhotep IV and Ay and Horemheb worship many Gods...the Pharoah of Exodus was Seti I who ruled only 11 years...in Exodus one king dies and is replaced.. Pharoah was in his first year reign when he spoke to Moses... And from Tutmose II to Ramses II...Seti has the worst and weakest profile..would God want the pharoah of exodus to be remembered as a Great or be forgotten in history..... Seti I ..... Also Ramses II ended the Cananites and so does Joshua.... and Ramses II son Merneptah made a message about seed of Israel dead abt 1208 BC and Israelities cross over to land of milk and honey around 1207 BC...❤...Seti I is your Exodus Pharoah and God killed his firstborn son so Ramses II could lead they way to help end the Canannites....❤ Huggs...

First, just because the Bible says the Temple was completed in 957 BC, doesn't make it so. Ditto for the reigns of Pharoahs some of whom served as co-regents with their fathers or in the case of Thutmosis III with his aunt, the Pharoah Hatshepsut. And lastly, to assume how long people lived and what constitutes a generation is problematic. Egyptians were lucky if they reached the ripe old age of 35 like Pharoah Akhenaten. And Pharoahs like Tut died even earlier at 18-19 years of age. But then Pepi II died at 94 and Ramses II was 90. Assuming the great and powerful had better diets than the average Thut, average lifespans could be between 25 to 35 years. Seems to me, an average of a 40 year generation is optimistic.

Who was the Pharaoh of the Exodus in 1446 BC? And did his firstborn son die in the 10th Plague? The first thing you must remember when trying to figure out who the Pharaoh of the Exodus was? Is that the Pharaoh whose daughter pulled the baby Moses out the Nile River when he was three months old; and the Pharaoh sitting on the throne when Moses killed the Egyptian soldier at age 40; and the Pharaoh that Moses stood in front of demanding that he: “Let God’s people go!” when he was 80, could have been two or three different Pharaohs Exodus 12:29-30 says. "At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the prisoner who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock. Pharaoh arose in the night, he and all his officials and all the Egyptians; and there was a loud cry in Egypt, for there was not a house without someone dead." You would think there would be a note in Egyptian history mentioning the death of Pharaoh's son. Manetho was a 3rd. Century BC. historian born in Egypt that translated the sacred Egyptian historical records into the Greek language. There is no doubt that Manetho wrote about the Israelites because he describes a people whose leader was called Moses who were slaves in Egypt, and went out of the country and afterwards settled in the country which is now called Judea, and there built Jerusalem and its Temple. Monetto says that these people took their journey from Egypt during the reign of Aminifist the King of Egypt. Aminifist is the Greek form of the Egyptian name Amenhotep. So in Josephus we are given a quote from Monetho where he names Amenhotep the Pharaoh of the Exodus; this is a huge discovery. Pharaoh Amenhotep’s mummy was covered in boils from head to toe. Did Pharaoh Amenhotep's firstborn son die in the 10th plague? King Tut was the first born son of Pharaoh Akhenaten (also known as Amenhotep III). All we know is that the boy King died suddenly, some time during the 18th dynasty. In 1886 Gaston Maspero discovered the mummy of Pharaoh Thutmose II and it was covered with scabs and scars that resemble boils, from head to toe. It has also been said that his body was fished out of the sea and mummified, and that the cysts were part of the plagues of boils which Egypt had suffered at the time of Moses. Thutmose II was the son of Amenhotep, but he was not his firstborn son. In Egyptian, the name means “the moon is born” but in Hebrew, Ahmose (אח משה) translated means “the brother of Moses. And in 2007 a team of medical experts led by Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass conducted cat scans on the mommy of Queen Hachatsut the wife of Thutmose II and her body was covered head to toe in scarring left by boils. This is proof that Amenhotep, Thutmose II and his wife Queen Hachatsut experienced the 10 plagues mentioned in Exodus, and that Amenhotep’s first born son King Tut died at an early age. Amenhotep III was the father of King Tut also known as (Tutankhamun). Amenhotep had two red granite lion statues carved and placed at his temple in the south of Egypt at Soleb. Tutankhamun had a section of text added to the statues in which he explicitly calls Amenhotep his father. Recent DNA analyses on the mummies of King Tut and his kin revealed that the boy king’s parents were siblings. The results were published in the journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) in February 2010 point to the fact that king Akhenaten (Amenhotep) and one of his sisters were the mom and dad of Tut. Zahi Hawass head of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, the lead investigator of the DNA genetic testing done on King Tut and 10 other mummies during the period of Tut's dynasty said: “Tut could have been the son of Amenhotep III, a successful and popular king of the 18th Dynasty, who was later known as Akhenaten.” For more information see: Moses Red Sea Crossing and the Ark of the Covenant.
