I tried playing brave souls but I quit because it seems like the game kinda plays itself. Does it get fun later? Is there anything to do besides running through the same mission 19 times? Do you ever need to turn off autoplay?

Most of time not really honestly. Only things I don't auto in is Guilds and Raids. Guess it's an required taste. Doesn't bother me too much as it's something to do in the background. Playing hundreds of hours of Destiny 1 and 2 makes stuff like this to me at least fun or at least enjoyable to do on repeat.
