I dunno about that. By no means am i saying he doesnt deserve it but the whole of g2 basically revolves around getting him the awp and putting him in situations to thrive as best they can. Donk is an entry fragging rifler which makes his stats even more crazy and zywoo has turned into more an all around team player, often opting the buy someone a gun rather than go for the awp and hes also still putting up crazy stats. Any of them deserve it.

Monesy is the only one of the three that I can't think of any series I watched this year where he really went missing, whereas I can think of multiple series I watched this year where donk was completely anonymous and at least two series off the top of my head where Zywoo may have got kills but had next to zero impact on the outcome of the maps; so even just for that reason alone I'd put Monesy #1 ... another big factor for me is the head2head of Monesy and donk at the Blast World Finals. donk had decent series with some highlight moments early on, but Monesy was the best player in the server across both maps and seemed to have impactful plays in practically every round; Monesy won his team that trophy. The JL shout is an interesting one. I love the guy and his impact and clutch plays have been 2nd to none this year, not to mention the insane stats of finals reached and trophies won. The only thing working against him is that when he's not having an impactful map, his cold hard stats alone can't reach anywhere near the levels of the established top 3. If NAVI win the major and JL gets MVP again then I think he should be considered a real contender, but for now his individual level isn't quite there yet.

i think the main reason jL isn't considered is because of his consistency issues. and his positioning in several maps. like dust 2. in world finals g2 destroyed navi simply by abusing the shit outta jL being alone at b. that's the weakness he has. also his impact is very limited to different maps. he doesn't really play well on dust 2/ nuke/ overpass/ anubis/ vertigo. like 5 maps where his rating is below 1.05? i think that already puts him off for the contention. while donk and monesy have been consistently good at every event and across all maps (except ofc donk iem cologne) and zywoo is zywoo. and yea zywoo does choke in late games. he had 2 kills in 7 rounds + double overtime in fall finals mirage game against g2.

Maybe the team is not as bad as what you think. It's their whole shtick to donk gets the kills and Chopper and the team are doing a good job about that. Their whole system is around Donk. No matter how much Hally tweaks it and tells other players to perform, at the end of the day there's a price to pay when you setup a lot for 1 player.
