Alex Palou would be a great fit for the second seat in the new Cadillac team. His age should not be a factor at all. Take a look at Damon Hill. He started in 1992 at 31 years old and was competitive straight away. Of course going on to win the 96 F1 driver's title too.

I think there is a chance it'll be Gasly/Ocon, if one of their teams falls off a cliff and they see no real progress with the 2026 car mid-2025, either of them could make a quick switch (I know they are both in "multi year" contracts, but who knows what that means). Both of them would bring a perfect combination of experience, skill and relative youth

Herta is actually a bit of a strange one for me. He is so, so quick and he is usually one of the top IndyCar drivers. This year was probably his best, but his previous couple of seasons weren't great. Granted, Andretti weren't great either, but Colton didn't help himself at times. Palou is brilliant, he's effectively a younger version of Scott Dixon, super super consistent. O'Ward is brilliant but sometimes frustrating to watch. But he's one of my favourite drivers all the same. I'd love to see him have a crack at F1 but at the same time, please don't go to Cadillac Pato, stay with McLaren!!! I first heard of Zilisch through his NASCAR exploits this year. Seems pretty good if his win at Watkins Glen is anything to go by. Drugovich might have a way in through IMSA, but I feel like if he was going to be in F1, he would already be there. Similar case to Théo Pourchaire, sadly. Colapinto's done his prospects very little harm during his spell so far, although the big crashes he's had recently have perhaps dented his stock a bit. Tsunoda would be a good option I think. Plenty of experience in his locker. Checo would be a seriously good option... if he isn't washed. But is he washed, or is it just that he's basically incompatible with the Red Bull? I suspect it's largely the latter, and a move away would probably be good for him. Lindblad is a very interesting option. I'm curious as to how he'll do in F2 next year. But he's embedded in the Red Bull program. All very interesting options but I think there could be some others. K-Mag and Bottas would both be decent options in terms of experience for instance, I reckon. Magnussen raced with Caddy in IMSA during his year out of F1 in 2021 so he is known to them, and Bottas has said he's interested in the drive.

Like you said, Pato brings in a lot of money, both through Mexican investments and marketability, you know how much this new age of F1 fans love a charismatic nice guy driving a racecar.
