First of all, this au takes place after the canon so I am taking into consideration the event of book 14. Secondly I don't think the books ever mention frost breath being able to spread. The dragon might get hypothermia but that's not something that spreads that's just a condition that you have or you don't (may you were thinking of frostbite?) I mean I feel like they would get pretty far I just don't see them winning is the thing. They live right outside of a vast open desert that during the day they probably wouldn't be able to use frostbreathe in and they're pretty far away from any allies/enemies. Of course they could though just because they have some powerful abilities and they somewhere their enemies can't even reach them but without the ice wall those enemies could at least take over some land.

Very fun analyses! I mostly chose to ignore tribal dispositions and potential allyships because there's just so much potential for change in 200 years and so many different ways the alliances might play out - plus, then, we'd probably have to consider that 3 of the tribes are on an entirely different continent and that changes things a lot! I really liked your points about the Mudwing scales being bolstered by mud and that the silkwings may be able to set traps hahaha. After reading all the comments on the original video I kind of became convinced Leafwings would actually be weaker than I gave them credit for or, at least, leafspeak was weaker than I was giving it credit for. Sundew - one of the strongest leafspeakers in Leafwing memory - had to work pretty hard to get individual plants to do anything useful against dragons in book 13. In the middle of a battle, I'm just not sure that'd be all that useful ESPECIALLY if their opponents decided to engage them in places with few plants.

I don't agree there, just got done reading book 13 again (laugh abt it) and while some leafspeak dragons do need a certain amount of focus it was clear that Sundew very much did not, she only had one time where her leafspeak didn't immediately bend plants to her will and it was that starving sundew plant she ran into the best i can compare her power to is a downright druid, minus the shape shifting and animal domination, she had even talked about setting free the jungle at the beginning of the book as if it was something she was genuinely capable of doing. I attribute the victory of the hivewings to the fact that with only three diffrent tribes there likely hadn't been a large amount of conflict in it's history, coupled with Queen wasps ability to dominate the minds of her subjects ment that the Leafwings were fighting a losing battle there, but in a war this many years down the line those dragons better hope there isnt one or more dragins anywhere close to sundew's level of batshit, or through some cultest breeding wind up above that level.

Honestly an alliance with any tribe would already increase your chances of winning, as that's one less tribe you have to worry about. I get what you're going for, but at the same time I feel that alliances kinda defeat the point of a battle royale, which is to be a no-holds bar fight free-for-all.

Honestly I think if a war broke out the Silkwings would probably go into hiding. They have very little strength in a fight but their defensive capabilities outdo any other tribe. If they went a fully defensive route during the war they would probably be untouchable granted they don’t ever go on the offence. I imagine many tribes would actively try to ally with them to cover their defences in exchange for their safety. The Leafwings or the Rainwings especially due to their similar habitats. Also, flamesilks aren’t that rare of an ability variation. If two Silkwings have dragonets and one is a flamesilk, it’s a 50/50 chance that their dragonets would be flamesilks too, and if both parents are flamesilks then all the dragonets will be flamesilks. It’s not like Leafspeak where they would have to gradually pair up dragons to make it stronger and stronger, they just have it at the ready once they turn six.

I'm betting sandwings. They have venom, fire, hard to navigate terrain (directions without a notable difference is pretty hard to invade, plus sandstorms and cacti), and they really only have one instant threat... which can't invade them because over heating. And I assume most other tribes would also over heat, just slower. Edit: oh yeah deserts get colder during night nevermind the icewings have a chance, just really inconvenient

Because sandwing don’t have a kingdom they have villages that are spread across the entire territory including that slight but blaze possibly gave glacier that a village full of dragons that can survive cold would definitely love to live at. Also sandiwng villages are very diverse with mainly sky, sand and mud tribes being at all of them but also been seen to have sea wings aswell meaning they would have to be able to fight all those tribes together at once in a single battle just to take out 1 village

@@Xx_D4RK_K1N_xX I mean, sparse villages are probably very good when it comes to attacks. There’d be less collateral damage on civilians and it’d take a while for a tribe to get to the next village. By that time, sandwings would already be prepared to hold and secure the town. Having the entire population live in a dense area makes it very easy to wipe them out, but a few scattered here and there is a little harder to take out. As to the dragons that live in sandwing villages, they’d be classed as civilians or be allied with the sandwings due to living in their kingdom and they’d obviously want to protect their home.

I personally think that seawings would actually do pretty well as they would literally just be able to hide underwater, and then if other tribes try to attack, drown them. And although mudwings can breathe underwater, it’s for a very limited time, and a seawing could always just knock the air out of their lungs and then drag them down.

@@BOBBYBOY456123 no because to be fair the outer tribes would ally with the inner tribes to avoid oceans we are also not taking into account Seawings are a warm/calm ocean only dragon they can’t take fierce oceans or even any body of water with to much rain meaning rainforests are untouched (rainwings), they couldn’t survive a trip to the seawing palace without being spotted and caught (skywings) Icewings could easily just let them freeze to statues as they would need to be soaked (to get water into their bodies) to no go insane but that means they can’t not freeze to death (ice) nightwings would probably live in a hidden section of sky, sand or mud territory making them to far, they also wouldn’t be able to even begin to reach plantala as its a super dry savanna. People also refuse to take in account that Seawings are also back stabber sand if given enough bribes they would make a rebellion against the tribe and possibly kill the tribe from the inside out and sense queen corals children aren’t the most sane they would prob be to scared to do much or be to aggressive and go to hard with punishment making riots and killings themselves faster.

6:21 Sandwings also don’t need much food, or water. As adaptation to their habitats, so their ally if they were to stick in somewhere else not in the desert((for temperature purposes)), very little food would go to the Sandwings. This has a plus in avoiding suspicion of enemies when it comes to all the food in the area

@@riban3768 I doubt so, It’d be to much pain the Seawing would be forced to let go. Also, she boils the water. This was shown in turtles book. So the seawing would get boiled alive either way, So neither would get out alive *if* Peril drowned. Also, Peril is very fierce. She doesn’t completely rely on her firescales. Flamesilk? I’m not to sure, Idk if Flamesilk fire is different becuz Pantala and Pyrrhia are diff continents and have barely interacted for 2 books. But it’s shown Peril can walk through fire, and is immune to it as she is fire herself. Flamesilk might be stronger, but tbh we haven’t seen Flamesilk enough to know. I don’t remember exactly how hot it is. But my point is, Peril is kinda indestructible.

it won't show my earlier comment so ima say it again: Nightwings are even less useful because dragons can just slap on some Skyfire. Also, I think if the leafwings and rainwings teamed up they would probably wipe out every tribe except the Sandwings and Icewings (no plants lol). If the Seawings even thought of invading, they could simply strangle them to death using plants. Also, they could kidnap Mudwing siblings and demand the Mudwings fight for them in exchange for their lives (I mean, any other dragon tribe could do that). As Mudwing siblings are naturally close, most would probably agree to said terms. They could use the Mudwings as distractions as they took out the kingdom's royalty and high-positioned dragons, making it look like the Mudwings were invading. That would cause the kingdom's allies, if they had any, to most likely plan to invade Mudwing territory, making another perfect distraction to invade the ally kingdom. Sorry for rambling lol.

@@probablyacultist I get where you’re coming from, but blister must’ve found some reason for preferring the sea wings over the mud wings. when she was brought up with a very tough decision to kill the mud wings who she thought killed commander Tempest and lose her alliance with the mud wings, or believe the mud wings, and lose her alliance with the seawings, she chose the sea wings because she felt they were the best and safest option to ensure her victory even after commander tempest died.

I think it would come to a stalemate between the IceWings, SeaWings, and LeafWings because they've all got their separate areas to hide in that make them impenetrable to other tribes. While the Poison jungle could theoretically be burnt down, it would take so long that, with enough leaf speak, the LeafWings could probably just keep growing it. If absolutely necessary, the SeaWings can just hide too far below the surface for anyone to reach them. The Ice wings can just keep staying there until everyone gets hypothermia and dies. If they all teamed up to iradicate the other tribes, they could just live peacefully where they can't go near each other for the foreseeable future.

4:12 I would say that might help somewhat but Rainwings can still camouflage. If enough of them escape the fire camouflaged they could just take over a different tribes land either by wiping them out or pushing the other tribe out. It might also make vengeance a bigger thing. If somebody got rid of your home how would you feel about them? Not great. Rainwings might just immediately target the tribe and possibly to the point that tribe either surrenders or goes extinct. Of course there is a chance they won't want revenge but still. 8:55 Actually, When Winter attacks Peril in Arc 2 Winter uses his frostbreath in the desert.

Here's a piece of my mind even though nobody asked. I feel like rain wings should be placed a notch or two lower since although they do have overpowered venom and can camouflage, they aren't likely to go to the Sand kingdom because it's way too hot for them and the ice kingdom is too cold for them(and every other tribe). Rain wings would do pretty badly in bare, plain spaces of land because they are used to climbing and gliding through the trees. If Rain wings were put under war conditions, they'd go hungry since Rain wings only really ever eat fruit and have strong opinions on eating animals. Ice wings should be placed a higher because their ice breath is deadly, remember, an ice wing shot their ice breath at queen Battlewinner and permanently scarred her and Qibli got knocked out due to winter's ice breath. Ice wings would also be good at every terrain, besides the sand kingdom because it's hot as hell. Ice wings could climb through the rainforest trees easily due to their serrated claws, most of the other terrains aren't ideal but it's not impossible to travel through them. The ice wings could always retreat into the ice kingdom and even without any wall to protect them, the freezing snowy tundra's disadvantage every single tribe. Another factor is that in the dangerous gift, it is shown that there's an ice wing treasury and there are many useful animus things like super strength and making army's invisible. The Icewings will never starve due to the gift of subsistence which is enchanted that everytime a dragon sticks their claws into the lake that they'll always catch a seal. The gift of vision can also guide Ice wing queens to winning the war and stopping peace because queens have a chance of getting killed in a war and they aren't going to lay back at their palace watching all of them die. Yeah, sorry for this long paragraph but it's what I personally think.

Actually I’m the book didnt they show rainwings could survive great in the dessert? Especially having a tunnel that leads into the dessert form their tribe? Also they would do great as they have the resources and given practice the ability to dress up as sandwings and invade the kingdom and possibly even be able to use the explosive cactuses and some rebellious sandwings to take out sandiwng villages. And for Icewings they couldn’t access the rainwings as in the books winter was very weak and felt strange in the climate as it is very hot

Let’s also say skywings focused on Icewings and just bred a bunch of flame silks to basically run into the kingdom and melt everything or if they had a alliance with Silkwings (a tribe that could definitely dominate but ppl just only think of them as specifically when they were under wasps ruling) to make dragons that had flame silk and scales as flame scales and silks are invincible towards heat making the 2 breeding possible making fully flame dragons that could just charge into the ice kingdom and melt it all down to nothing but puddles. To get multiple dragons with those traits it would take YEARS upon years of breeding and the war would probably be over by then. Majority of the silkwings are also mentioned to be major pacifist. Also I really doubt that that ANY of the tribes would last long in the ice wing kingdom, whether they’re a flamesilk/scale or not, the icewings could just play defensive and to flee deeper into their kingdom until the invaders either turn back or die

And with the flame silks they aren’t rare like flame scales which are a mutation they are more of a trait that is just not mated with due to queen wasps upbringing. Also flame scales would survive in the ice kingdom easily as its not like its untouchable the dod survived the outer circle clay doing much better then the others meaning if a dragon had the help of a ability like flame scale or silk they would probably be able to survive especially if they used flame silk to make coats to warm them up.

Even more powerful is sky, silk and possibly if needed sand? As flame silks aren’t rare they are just not given a chance to breed amongst each other. But Silkwings also have flame silk and are invincible to flame (flamesilks only) making the, compatible to breed with a flame of the other tribe making dragons that could run into a territory and basically burn it all to the ground easily.

Tbh I feel like nightwings and rainwings would make a alliance. Making them both probably without doubt win the war as both powers basically complete the other tribe. Also i feel like sandwings would suffer a huge threat from rainwings as they are ust to a very hot and heated climate and it has been shown that they can very much thrive in the dessert with food which they could easily hide under their bodies and just go invisible, infact rainwings could easily ambush Sandwings as they have the resources to make themselves look just like Sandwings or just be sand and infiltrate the kingdom and very possibly if not definitely kill off the queen and steal the eye of onyx and hide it making the entire kingdom go to a whole circus of fear and trying to figure out the murderer as well as a new queen without the eye of onyx and making a new burn, blister and blaze situation making the tribe die simply from each other. However a tribe that would definitely kill rainwings would be mudwings or strangely maybe Silkwings? As Silkwings are a more intelligent tribe and could definitely make armor to fend off against rainwing acid and be-able to easily shut their mouths and use hiveiwng weapons to finish them off. Especially if u take into consideration that the tribe was probably very fierce and deadly before queen wasp as in nature there is a rule of if a animal is brightly colored they are probably very very dangerous. Edit: I also feel like skywings could win? They have been said to be very kind dragons before scarlet and would definitely be great manipulators and would possibly breed skywings to have fire scale dragonets after perils success or if they were desperate have flamescales breed with flamesilks making sorta super soldiers that can just fly into territories run around and light everything and everywhere on fire. But that is if skywings are desperate and sacrifice their pride to ally with a tribe such as Silkwings or if Silkwings would help skywings as they could definitely be at a high spot possibly higher then hivewings as remember hivewings have powers but they aren’t common and that means that many of them have abilities that would be useless such as a horrible stench and paralyzing toxins that they inject into dragons as yes if they could score a hit would be powerful but that only really worked as they were in inclosed areas and rarely used it for harmless dragons that were just out of line meaning a lot would probably no longer have important genes as they only used them when they were put into jobs by wasp. I’m not saying the genes would be wiped out but probably untouched and very confusing for dragons to be thrown into a scene where they would instantly need to be able to just use those abilities that they probably left untouched for a while they would also probably not be a fierce tribe as they would be scared to have a queen like wasp again possibly making them like The old rainwings but only focus on relationships with tribes, economic success, and farming if leafwings didn’t take over that field already. Another edit sry! I headcannon that Seawings and rainwings have a sub species called octowings that are under the Seawing tribe. I think your ratings are pretty accurate! This was a really too video, yet we still have to dig a little deeper. MudWings: As you said, MudWings are not the brightest type, and aren't big strategists. Instead, MudWings would probably go head on in battle, which would be a bit more complicated than you think. Since MudWings have very tough scales, thicker builds, and can heal some wounds from mud, they would be a pretty formidable force. For a small amount of time. If all their dragons keep dying due to rapid attacks, they would hit hard, yet in the long run, would be pretty low on the scale, yet not rendering them completely useless. SandWings: SandWings are a tough one, but I reckon they would also be very low on the list. While having an array of weponary, and being very conniving, they are one of the least adaptable tribes. I mean, desert based animals are specifically supposed to have very high temperatures, which only the MudWing habitat would be suitable. If wars were to break out, they would need to stay in their kingdom, meaning a greater chance of mass genocide. They might even be taken over by the MudWings. Since the desert is very large, it also means more space for other enemies to attack. While having such a large space, they have many other tribes surrounding it. They would be pretty capable in defense, but that's not really how you win a war. SkyWings: SkyWings would rank very high in my opinion. Their millitary forces are well known to be formidable and dangerous. Since they are the fastest and hotest fire breathers, they can definitely pack a punch. Their climate means they stand a really good chance of going to the Ice kindom, while having the heat inside them to keep warm. Their claws are probably the third sharpest of all the tribes, and their sharp sight also plays a big factor. Since they have the higher ground, attacks will be more difficult, so the SkyWings have a great attack and defense system. SeaWings: This tribe is also really dificult to rank, as they will never really lose. Since their tribe is mostly underwater, taking over their whole tribe is literally impossible. They don't have a wide array of powers, most of them being water based. Yet, their claws are sharp, and are more generally stable on their arms and legs. But, as said with the SandWings, they would be quite terrible in out of water combat. Their need for water will never get them far in the Sand kindom, or anywhere without nearby acsess to it. Meaning they would mostly stay secluded in the sea. They wouldn't win a war for fighting, but they would if they stayed out of it. RainWings: This tribe would do quite well in a war against the SandWings, if they prepared properley. Their venom mixed with their ability to camoflage would make them terrific assassinators. While they are surrounded by many other tribes too, their camoflage makes ambushing raids much more dangerous. Even when yousaid how the RainWings are surrounded by trees, it is called a rainforest for a reason. If everything is damp, not much can spread the flame other than SkyWings. They aren't my top rated tribe though, since their kind and trusting nature plays a big part in their lives, even after two hundred years. They also are the least physically strong out of all the tribes, which means they have to result in brains instead of brawn. IceWings: This tribe would be my top rated tribe, almost just for how cold their climates are. Any non- IceWing would freeze to death of put in the kimdom, even after the wall was torn down. If any tribe were to attack, they would be weak from the cold, and hungry. The IceWings have the sharpest claws and frostbreath, which are very useful. If they were to fight, they would have the upper chance, since they are just too spiky. They are pretty physically strong too. Their real only weakness is if they went to the Sand kingdom, as they definitley would be able to survive other climates. We see some IceWings in possibility, and some in the arena, yet they are not fazed. NightWings: This tribe would almost never be effective, as their black scales are only useful at night. Their current health may pass down generations from then, meaning they still would be pretty rare to see. With powers, seers would be bad in a fight, as moon had plenty of headaches from her visions. Mind readers could be effective, but not really in the heat of the battle, where they have to think past the dragon they are fighting, and coming up with tactics of their own instead of relying on others thoughts. Since their habitat was destroyed, they wouldn't be that adaptable to other land, since most of it is already claimed. This would make it easy to take over. They aren't the worst tribe though. HiveWings: This tribe would be second in place. They won the tree wars, and are really skilled in combat. If the hivemind was still in them, they would be even tougher to beat. We have yet to see how they cope in different climates, but knowing them, they probably would still get past most tribes. Their ability to work together, and their unpredictability would most likely win a war. SilkWings: Like you said, this would be the worst tribe in a battle. Being vegetarians, they would never be able to get as much muscle if it were a different tribe. Their kind and submissive nature would most certianly get them killed. Their defense isn't even that great. I mean, they would be the best ones to flee, but would never win a fight. LeafWings: This tribe would really be the surprise, having leafspeak and a bunch of materials at their disposal. This tribe would best fight in their habitat, but could well and truly fight well. The only problem is that they rely too heavily on their plants and poisons. If their supply were to be burned or stolen, they would probably panic. Obviously they would collect more, but this would leave time for ambush. Their best bet would be to focus on raw strength a bit more. Pretty reasonable but mind readers and future seers can just see enemy attacks coming in battle, and good seers can just see how the nightwings can minimize losses and win in the long run. Also I still think SandWings will still be very powerful because they have hard terrain to invade plus fire and lethal poison and they are pretty battle-smart PLUS they can go long time without water and food, so they can do long campaigns into enemy territory without a problem. In real life, smart commanders defeated much bigger armies by blocking their supply lines and starving them to death so they panic and attempt a last desperate attack to break the siege, then they can simply outmanuever and position themselves at a terrain advantage and ambush and massacre the bigger army. SandWings will not be affected by this, as they can go long without food, So only the IceWings OR RainWings have a chance against them. Also SeaWings, IceWings and probably Leafwings too are completely untouchable in their home territory. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

First of all highly recommend the rest of books personally I think they’re all good even if some of the later ones have flaws Anyways spoilers beyond this point for arc two I just want to mention before I get into it that nightwings, even without their powers are very intelligent. They convinced six tribes of dragons to believe in a lie for years, nobody even knew where they lived. If nothing else they would be very valuable tacticians the Silkwings don’t even have that much, nightwings would still wouldn’t be bad without their powers Also in the second arc it is revealed nightwings born under at least one full moon have powers. One means they get either mind reading or prophecy, two means they get both, three is a little iffy but it’s suggested three moons just makes the abilities more powerful. The smog from the volcano covered the moons also they hatched in caves so they didn’t get powers So yes, nightwings actually do have mind reading and prophecy powers

one thing to keep in mind would be battle knowledge, for example, more aggressive tribes (from what we've seen) typically are the most dominant (HiveWings, although they were assisted by having no competition in the teamwork factor because yeah) or better tactically, e.g SkyWing bombing places and all that. which is the main factor for why I really doubt RainWings would win the war, they quite literally did sit around eating fruit and all that stuff the majority of the time, having very little battle experience, leading them to being pretty useless tactically, unless specifically trained over a long period of time, but that would only affect them in the long term, assuming they live through the short term, a.k.a literally any tribe with fire burning down their entire rainforest. not really capable of winning if you're out of food to feed an entire tribe and not much battle experience PERSONALLY i'd rank it as so 1# tied with LeafWings, IceWings and SkyWings, they are all pretty beastly and have either pretty powerful physical capabilities and have shown great tactical skill (SkyWings), advantages with the majority of terrain (LeafWings) or a powerful, natural territory (IceWings) 2# I'd give it to MudWings, despite not being that tactically advanced, they are still capable of devising plans better than some other tribes, such as SilkWings or RainWings, and have more than enough raw power to overcome some tribe's main strengths, e.g SkyWing fire (their fire is supposedly the hottest out of all dragons), SandWing stingers (you're obviously going to have armour, and a stinger vs basic armour + heavily armoured dragon doesn't mix well) 3# I'd gotta go with SandWings or NightWings, Sandwings have incredible home territory and versatility in close quarters combat as well as being capable of out enduring opponents due to their natural advantages, meaning stake-outs can last longer, won't starve as easily if you remove food supplies ect. NightWings are also great, but they would naturally try relying on ambushing opponents, and you're not really going to win a war purely out of ambushing people, as tribes would just become more weary and set up larger fires to combat their disguising abilities 4# HiveWings it would be unfair to place them higher, due to our only real knowledge on HiveWing combat and tactical skill was when they were being mind controlled, but I'll give em a higher rank than some tribes due to their versatility in abilities 5# SeaWings, they're literally limited to staying almost exclusively in the ocean (and some rivers) or else they'll go insane, so other tribes will naturally take advantage and keep most supplies, soldiers etc further away from the ocean, or have reinforcements placed nearby there in order to specifically counter attack SeaWings. Naturally they'll be on defence since they have no real land to gain, so attacks will usually be uncommon and difficult to pull off from them 5# RainWings and SilkWIngs, both aren't great tacticians, nor do they have much battle knowledge, their only real advantages are that they can blend into their surroundings (would be difficult with the correct counter play), which would be an issue for SilkWIngs since they're so bright and colourful. Venom spit wouldn't be directly useful assuming dragons are using the correct armour, think about it, if Scarlet could tank one to the face, imagine reinforced armour having to melt through, THEN getting to the scales, significantly less effective, and then there's flame silk, its literally just Fire Breath but nerfed tbh, but I will admit, would still allow for some versatility in combat. of course you're welcome to disagree, just thought I'd add my own personal ranking, especially since I'm tired of RainWings being "the top dog" in a lot of fighting scenarios, since there are a fair few weaknesses on their side and some counter play.

tldr; nightwings were made too strong. hivewings and icewings were made too weak. I think you deff buffed the nightwings a little too hard. They might have mindreading and seer powers besides that they’re average dragons. In darkstalker legends its mentioned that the nightwings having seer powers as strong as clearsight is incredibly rare. Mindreading is a fine power but I’m not sure how useful it'd be in war, plus if its 200 years later skyfire could become common knowledge. The hivewings and Icewings could also probably be moved up one. They’re already very militarized and their powers are pretty op, I definitely think they could rival the sandwings just because of the variety of their powers. The Icewings have a territory that's pretty much unreachable. Their frostbreath is deadly and their claws are very sharp. They could wait out the war than cut into the Skywing’s territory to bypass the desert heat and ambush whoever is left. This is super fun to theorize about!

*Spoiler for book 15* Near the start of the book, the secret stealth team gets attacked by hivewings. Most of the dragons are invisible when it happens, and yet some of the invisible ones are captured. I think if the silks made an alliance with one the more aggressive tribes, they might win, becuase with silkwing sentries they would be almost immune to ambushes. I’d put silks in the middle tier for that reason.

I feel like the Skywings also have a territorial advantage as their high and dense amounts of mountains could serve as great ambush points for any tribe trying to get into the sky kingdom. So if the Skywings just go completely defensive (Which I doubt will ever happen considering how aggressive they are) they can hold out for quite a while until being beaten. Also they can literally grow explosives.

I feel like nightwing icewings and rainwings would be the top, because assuming that each tribe has 200 years development time (not necessarily prep time) and assuming this is a battle royal and their still in their Iron Age (they haven’t devolved into the Stone Age, or the there hasn’t been a reverse scorching or some unholy plague) and that animus dragons and their artifacts are disabled, those three tribes have the best powers, while taking into account variables they rely on that could be turned against them (ex: environment, diets, or social climates). For example leaf wings, they have few leaf speakers, and even then, leaf speakers rely on a plant to cooperate and can’t brute force and entire forest to do what they want, especially if said action was detriment to said forest’s health, which waging war usually is, especially since four of said tribes have the potential to breath straight up fire. And plus, leaf speakers aren’t that common, and their tribe in general has proven prone to civil disputes, and taking into account the long lived nature of dragons, bad blood will most likely still be present even two centuries later. And, their only major strengths besides their leaf speak, is their skill in guerrilla warfare. Their weapons supply is usually sourced from their jungle specifically, which is environment that’s is incredibly easy to subvert, introduce a few potent outside interference and the entire ecosystem will collapse. Then silkwings, they have few flame silks and their natural weapons are shit, plenty of tribes have physical and social advantages of simply evolving to be stronger along with the benefit of not being a ex-slave race. Their echolocation would make them a nightmare for stealth but one wrong move and their done for, this is also very true for wherever they decide to base since their young are ridiculously vulnerable (week long incubation where they are vulnerable and no wings till their 6/7 I forgot). And since giving birth is necessary for a population and also not something you can really keep hush hush, it’d be nigh impossible to keep spies of literally 9 other tribes from discovering it and leading to re-enslavement or annihilation. Hivewings, actually have a chance, each hivewing is born with diverse abilities making determining a hivewing enemy’s power difficult, and not to mention, said powers are incredibly useful for multiple situations (like paralyzation). And not only that, but their society’s structure is built in a careful and efficient heiarchy, one gives fall does not guarantee the others. Icewings, even without their wall, are still protections, no other tribe could survive, except possibly fire scale sky wings, but even that’s pushing it, constant bellow zero temperatures would tear as any firescales’ endurance till they die of exhaustion. That’s also taking into account frost breath- which has been proven to be stupidly dangerous. Lava couldn’t even permanently melt it. Only stop it. (Battlewinner), so what if multiple shots of forst breath from kultiple icewing sat the same time in a fucking snow storm happened to a firescales? Yeah, their dead. And along with their stupidly dangerous breath, their general physiology is just dangerous, extra sharp and pointy spines, claws, horns, neck, limbs, wings and tail. Safe to say, they are incredibly powerful and always have a reliable base of operation. I’m bored and will come back later to finish this lmao

imo, i think that rainwings are more nerfed than that. they can’t stand extreme temperatures, and venom is dangerous but also only lethal to the eyes. sandwings can go for so long without water and food which is way more overpowered than people realize. not to mention the antidote for their stinger is ONLY in the desert. also mudwings come in waves of massive armies of many siblings which can be underrestimated i think. skywings are really good in combat and in the sky. a fleet of skywings would be really hard to outfly and defend against

I think the sandwings would win personally. They have a few unique abilities, they can go days without food and they don’t need much water. They are also sparsely populated in a huge area of land so it’d take a good while for attackers to get to one village from another. Also, one thing about deserts, coming from living in canadas closest version to one, it isn’t all just sand. There is prairies, dunes, weird rock formations and spiny little plants everywhere. Also, dust. Sandwings are probably adapted to keep dust out of their eyes but any other dragon might have a hard time with eye irritation. They have huge geographical advantages as well as biological ones which is why I think they would win.

A Rainwing-Seawing-Leafwing alliance would absolutely ruin the other tribes, no doubt. It protects against the weakness of burning the rainforest as the strongest Leafspeakers would be on that regrowth immediately. The Seawings would help more on the shore sneak attacks and healing side, Leafwings helping the Rainwings do sneak attacks by convincing the plants to grow inconveniently, cover the Rainwing's tracks, creating just a couple dragon-eating plants, and setting traps with the allure of food. Rainwings are obviously the MVP, while not being heavy hitters, they have the advantage of camouflage, VENOM, and, while less talked about, agility. The agility would be one of the best skills, considering it's probably not easy to maneuver through the thick rainforest, so in open territory Rainwings could be formidable at dodging and shifting positions in the air. Leafwings would also have the agility, but they would also be heavier hitters like the Seawings, who can't maneuver as fast in the air. All in all, a Rainwing-Seawing-Leafwing alliance would wreck the others due to the trio protecting each other's weaknesses.

Pff, Yeah i just wanted to say he/she has a point in a way. Spoilers for book 14!! Jerboa removed animus magic from existing dragons, but newly hatched ones can still use magic. The royals carry animus genes but it’s still one in whatever wof logic chances that a baby will even hatch with animus magic so Seawings are still in the same place as before.
