What I also like about this premise “The Gods having children with select Amazons” is that it VERY EASILY opens you up to doing Grail in the future. If the Old Gods can have children with Amazons, why can’t a New God? So we have Darkseid do the same, and have Grail’s mother be outcasted for it.

I do think Giganta would be a solid pick for Wonder Woman's first villain, at least before having her fighting powerful Gods like Ares, Circe, etc... Honestly, there are many underrated villains in her rogue's gallery they can pick from for her first enemy, and I don't think there's any right or wrong answer since there's a lot you can do with her villains and her dynamic with each of them.

I liked your story. I always thought that someone like Cheetah or Giganta should definitely be Diana’s arch nemesis first because it always made the most sense. However (and this is just me diving into my crazy idea factory) I think it would be interesting if Diana’s first battle was with Grail. I’m not saying Grail should be her first arch nemesis or even first villain, just her first battle. Like, let’s just say for the first 20 years of her life (at most) she wasn’t told about the prophecy and was just treated like any other Amazon. Maybe she would hear some of the older Amazons whispering about her whenever she would pass by. The other younger Amazons would be wary of her but try to act normal. Diana would be the one person to treat Grail with kindness and respect and the two of them would grow close. And since they were born so close to each other, they’d feel more of a sisterly bond with each than any of the other Amazons. But, on their 20th birthday, the two would battle for the first time (just in an Amazon tradition or something) and they would both trigger a spark of their godly powers. The other Amazons would be happy for Diana but Grail’s sudden awakening would result in her being secret locked away for the rest of Diana’s time on the island and longer. Eventually, after years of being locked up, Grail would fully come into her power that she inherited from her father, Darkseid, and escape the island killing a large majority of the Amazons in the process. She would learn of the prophecy surrounding her but also hear of Diana having left the island long ago. Feeling like Diana betrayed her, Grail would seek her out and the two would then fight as enemies. By that time, Diana would have already fought against most of her other rogues gallery but not have fully come into her godly power.

Something I love about this take on the story is it explains why wonder woman never kills her. Sure wonder woman isn’t a bloodthirsty monster, but she’s made it clear she’s more than willing to kill if it’s necessary. but making it so her first villain was a friend would make it more believable that she wouldn’t be willing to take her and vice versa

I love how this version of the villain is very sympathetic yet you know what she’s doing is going too far. Leaving the island because you can’t trust the leaders anymore is fair enough. After all if you can’t trust your queen or even worse, your own mother, who can you trust? For all she knew Diana could’ve been in on it seeing as she was the princess. But going back and waging war against her own people and potentially killing innocent Amazons just to get some answers is going way too far

I really enjoy your channel and have been following your videos for a while-always love your insights and creativity! That said, I have a slightly different take on Wonder Woman's storyline. I feel that no male gods, like Zeus or Ares, should be involved in Diana’s origin-her birth should be solely the work of the female gods coming together to give her life. Also, I’m not keen on the idea of any romantic relationships between godly creatures and Hippolyta. It feels unnecessary and doesn’t quite fit with the Amazonian lore. Additionally, the idea of Amazons slaving men or sending male children away doesn’t sit well with me. It seems out of character for them and doesn’t align with the values that Wonder Woman embodies. I also like the thought of Amazons not being entirely isolated-they should have access to both magic and technology, which is where Wonder Woman’s invisible jet could come into play

I like the Giganta story. Except I would change it from daughter of the gods.. to daughter of the Titans. Since Titans are natural enemies of the gods and can even eat gods it makes a very great rival. God magic doesn’t work on titans they can absorb it, but titans also can’t wield magic.. It gives Giganta and WW a Yin/Yang

You know what, thank you. I was planning on making her a child of a Titan but my knowledge on them was limited. So I didn't know if it would make sense. But in terms of her powers and what she can do it's brilliant. The ability to ignore magic would be perfect as well.

Also I reimagined Cheetah being Steve Trevor’s childhood friend that she wanted to spend her life with until he was came back from his supposed crash that he came back with a stranger that he started favouring over a woman who he knew half his life over a nobody and that is she hated Diana for and that Circe made her the Cheetah after escaping the Room with no Doors with her Conspirators as they maintain their powers.

I'd personally have Diana be unable to accept the truth of her true origin for quite some time. She would be in denial for quite a while, even after having beaten Giganta. In this timeline I could see a sinister six of Amazon demigods fighting Diana at some point, which could be amazing.

Interesting, a first villain is important, but if I may be so bold might I ask who would you say is Diana's antithetical nemesis? Batman has Joker, Superman has Lex Luther, but Diana doesn't really have a noteworthy household-name antithesis that she can foil on a regular basis. I mean sure there's Ares but ive always viewed the court of owls or doomsday analogue, the looming threat who always means business. Another pick would be Dr. Psycho, but he's essentially just a psychic riddler analogue with more incel-juice thrown in. I actually went to the DC fan wiki to see and I think the best pick for WW's nemesis would be Fausta grables, her original backstory works as she is essentially someone who worked with a repressive regime who would likely end up restricting the rights of a lot of people, needless to say women in general , or was given a high ranking in the Nazi hierarchy because she fit the ideal of traditional women-hood to a tee and was made to be a star female athlete by the regime. Even if you were to update her for the modern day hardcore character concept still feels like it would fit as essentially someone who in uses their looks to get ahead instead of using any true skill (I feel the trope of the blonde Republican sex kitten would be applicable here) or just generally being a starscream-in-megatrons's clothing would suit her well.
@kamenrangerzeo82512 ай бұрын
I think for wonder woman’s first villain that she should fight against is Aresia and I think having her father as Ares would be a perfect choice. The reason for the statement is that I will still have Diana as the daughter of Zeus and the most favorite among his children while Ares’ Daughter Aresia would think more like her father with the whole idea of conquering and bring war I would also incorporate some ideas from the wonder woman TV show with her (Aresia) taking on the identity of Paulina von Gunther. Another villain that Diana could face would be silver swan as the child of Circe. And silver swan could have some of the same attributes of Circe, but at the same time she also has the abilities of a siren.

I'd say Circe or Ares, maybe both. There needs to be some sort of catalyst to make the Amazons want to send one of their own to Man's World and it would have to be something massive and both Circe and Ares make perfect sense as massive threats that the Amazons would notice and try to send one of their own to stop, especially since they're both connected to Greek Mythology. I get that these are two of Wonder Woman's biggest threats and it makes sense to save them for later, but I also think it gives a good reason for Diana to actually leave for Man's World. I don't like Diana leaving Themyscira because of World War 2, I prefer Diana to be a younger character, having her be Wonder Woman since the 1940s just feels weird to me. I think Hippolyta is better suited as the World War 2 Wonder Woman, she has been it before in the comics and it gives the Wonder Woman title more of a legacy. I also have only really liked Steve and Diana in the Golden Age and in Greg Rucka's run during DC Rebirth. I much prefer Steve as a World War 2 character and there are very few times that him coming over to modern times have actually worked for me. I'm also not a fan of the idea of Wonder Woman being a demi-god, whether her father be Zeus or Ares it has never been appealing to me. It just feels right that she was crafted by her mother from clay and given life by the Goddesses, each giving her something that makes her special. She is a feminist hero after all, making her a daughter of Zeus or Ares makes her power come from Zeus or Ares, male gods. It works better for her gifts to be something bestowed upon her by the goddesses. I've never been a fan of Giganta's various origins in the comics. My head canon origin is that Doris is a young scientist that is diagnosed with a rare fatal blood disorder and tries to harvest Diana's life essence to extend her own life like in post crisis. Unlike in Post Crisis, she doesn't die, instead she becomes magically powered by Diana's life essence and finds a way to stabilize her powers (maybe with the help of Gorilla Grodd if we really want to carry over the gorilla stuff). Giganta, to me, works better as a later villain for Diana. Perhaps her and Doris could first meet in like her second year, but their first meeting where Doris is actually Giganta would happen years later once she has stabilized her powers and learned how to control them.
