I would enjoy drinking and talking with either, but would lean more toward Hornblower because it would give more insight into myself as I'm more like Hornblower.

I believe that you’d learn a lot about Horatio by what he doesn’t say and I don’t think he’d say a lot.

While I liked both Captains and would drink with either, would it be possible to have dinner with Admiral, Sir Edward Pellew instead?

Linois for myself (Charles Alexandre Léon Durand de Linois). He is a true historical figure, but in the Aubrey-Marurin series he also appears, when he defeats the Sophie in “Master and Commander” and is very good towards Aubrey and Maturin, in reality he captures Cochrane’s HMS Speedy, and then he reappears when he is at the head of a squadron in the Indian Ocean in “the surprise”.

You gotta be kidding me. Judgmental, touch-me-not, cold-fish Hornblower, or jolly, humane, humorous Lucky Jack Aubrey? It's Aubrey all the way!

Neither. I'd rather talk to Sir Edward Pellew.

I would rather have the beer with hornblower any day of the week.
