My last name is Babauta, and the results gave me people whose surname were "babat" or something like that, then when I checked the census linked to some people with the last name, it was clearly "Babauta"

Last names change in spelling due to immigration and traveling and illiteracy. People just wrote whatever they heard. My moms last name is Cantu but on different records it's spelled different ways
