I would really appreciate it if you can make a detailed video on who to use and connect the trigger relays

I'm curious, are you running the Wiim Amps into another amplifier? Or using the WIIM as their own amplifier and speaker control? I couldnt tell if youre string additional amplifiers + wiim

Nice setup with turning the amps on and off. My one suggestion is that it would probably be much safer to have the Solid State Relays trigger a multi-stage power conditioner, such as a furman PS-8R. Keeps all the high voltage contained in a metal, fire proof case, and staggers start up to avoid a surge with all the amps turning on at once. I personally use those same SSRs on my setup at home to trigger my power conditoners on. I don't think I could trust those cheap SSRs with line voltage.

You’re making me reconsider selling my 19” rack cabinet with glass doors and built in power strip. It’s an old ATT telco cabinet. I had planned on using it for music mixing recording equipment originally but home audio might be its next life! What is your background? Networking or ? People don’t usually do much cable management without some familiarity with racks or cabinets.

Believe it or not, I have zero background in anything technical. I've been in multi-unit retail leadership for decades now. I wish my passion lined up with my ability to earn a living but it hasn't worked out that way. Keep the rack and build yourself a sweet system around it. It's worked out well for me and continues to do so!

I've been following your channel since I first saw your video on adding relays to the garage door openers. Really enjoy the varied content. If you could do an explanation/walk through on your outdoor speaker setup, that'd be great. I'm in the process of designing my system now, and I like the idea of piecing it all together the way you've done, instead of going with a bunch of BT speakers on $onos.

Wow, you're an OG! First off, thank you so much for sticking with me. I can do that, and will do that for you based on how long you've hung in there with my stupid channel :). Thanks again, comments like yours mean the world to me. BTW, does your username relate to the Taurus SHO back in the best days of Yamaha power by chance?
@sho925 ай бұрын
@@Trialnerror Sure does! It was my first car in 1997 (92 5 speed) and I had 2 more after that one. Always the Yamaha V6 with a stick. My last one was highly modified for track days, but kids and life eventually put an end to it in 2018. They were a great engine in search of a better chassis, but that Taurus still surprised a lot of cars out on track. I'll look forward to the audio system video!

Can you run two separate audio inputs for the different sections/areas? For example, if you were out at the pool and someone else was in the house, can both users stream different audio from their device? I assume so since they are separate WiiM devices.
@Trialnerror8 ай бұрын
Yes you can, you can run any input or any streaming source at the same time or sync them all together as needed.

Do Wiim products play in sync with each other like Sonos or Yamaha MusicCast products? Meaning if you have 2 streamers feeding nearby zones, can they play the same source in perfect lock step? Amazing setup. You are one sharp dude.
@Trialnerror4 ай бұрын
Yes, you can have them all linked or playing separate. Thanks for the kind words!

Does the WiiM stuff require a cloud connection or an account on their cloud stuff to work?
@Trialnerror8 ай бұрын
No, it uses a direct connection over your network.

You have an awesome setup. Your built in rack space is great, I'm jealous.

Nice ! Do you have local volume control on you "house zones" since they are all fed at the same time ?
@Trialnerror3 ай бұрын
Yes, they volume setup is perfect. You can adjust each zone individually or adjust the group together.

@@Trialnerror I'm not sure you got what I meant : how do you deal with the volumes between the rooms in your house since they are behind a single WiiM streamer ?

Throwing Sonos in the trash is the smartest thing you could of done . I did the same and went with WiiM it’s way better.
