It's so refreshing to watch someone who really cleans and doesn't just spray a bunch of "cleaners" around. Have seen so many videos of people spraying commercial cleaners with little ones right underneath breathing them in and walking in it. I would worry about health concerns with many of these commercial products, as well as the money that's spent on so many different products. Your practices make me breathe easier! I have used many of the cleaning recipes you use for years and know that you seldom need heavy duty cleaning products to have a clean healthy house. You always motivate me. Thanks!

Let's say you're cutting raw chicken on a chopping board. There's going to be tonnes of bacteria on that chopping board including salmonella. You do know that white vinegar cannot kill all types of bacteria. It cant kill salmonella for example. Dish detergent cannot kill as much bacteria either as it doesn't have sanatizing power like bleach. So if someone uses white vinegar as a way to kill salmonella they arent doing anything. The best thing to use is a diluted version of bleach and water and thoroughly rinse afterwards. Also side note if you use white vinegar to clean the washing machine don't because it can corrde the rubber parts in the machine and cause leaks. I only found out about this recently so I thought I'd share it. Have a good day and take care

In the 70’s I was a young wife, mother, and college student with a full time job. We lived in a small town & weren’t able to afford cleaning help often. There were 2 precious sisters in their 40’s or 50’s who spoke English with a German accent and cleaned better than anyone else ever has. Our house was a small 1940’s rental house with vinyl flooring in the kitchen and bathroom and carpet in living room and 2 bedrooms. When I would come home after they had been there, my house looked & smelled so fresh and clean it absolutely sparkled! How I wish I could remember the combinations of ordinary household products they told me they used in the bathroom, kitchen, and for dusting and vacuuming the whole house. It smelled like small amounts of alcohol, vinegar, ammonia, baking soda and maybe dish soap mixed with water. I’d sure love to know which & how much of those products can be safely mixed together to get those results!

I love all your videos. I watch each one and make plans for my home. Our cleaning style is very much a like I used to think my daughters weren't learning but when they went off to college everybody liked their rooms because it was always neat and clean! I'm so pleased when I visit the older one's home. there's nothing for me to do except to help her with decor ideas and we exchange clothes! 😊

I love the addition of the coconut oil to your 'scrub' recipe. I've used a similar recipe to yours for years, but I've noticed a distinct lack of luster to the porcelain of the sink. I'd read that car wax could help, but I haven't quite trusted that suggestion; however, the addition of the coconut oil basically takes its place. Thanks for the recipe. Question: is it baking soda or baking powder (which showed on the recipe)? I actually used the powder and it fizzes with the addition of any water (which isn't a bad thing actually) but the texture of your mixture doesn't look like mine at all, so I thought baking soda.

What incredible tips! For the first time today I cleaned the fireplace without chemicals! I made a pulp with the ashes and some water and rubbed it on the glass with the help of a newspaper. When the blackness was completely gone, I sprayed with a solution: 5 parts water, 1 part vinegar and 2 drops of dish detergent (I thought it was your recipe). It was cleaned better and faster (without the use of a scraper) than any chemical method! You inspired me! Irene from Greece.

Beautiful Home. Big Hint for cleaning Fireplace Doors. Fireplace ash and a wet rag!! Works wonders, no razor blades or real scrubbing. Light fire and let doors warm up for a bit while the fire gets good and warm. Thoroughly wet a rag then dip in some ash. The ash acts as the abrasive and no real scrubbing if the doors are warm enough. Hope this helps....
