@@trcs3079 This place in particular is in the middle of nowhere. Princeton, TX doesn't have many Asian people. It was mainly white farmers/country folk until 5-10 years ago when new homes started being built (even then some chain stores stay around the freeway while mom and pop stores are within the heart of the city). If Filipinos from all over Dallas venture out there then it must be decent.

the dumpling soup is called “pancit molo” it’s more typically cooked by people in the visayas especially in Iloilo City for the name is derived from a district there. Also, there is a lot of Chinese influence in Filipino cuisine that actually predates the spanish period and one of them is the pancit molo.

Dreams of a perfect day, staying at home cooking a whole big bowl of chewy aromatic rice and just stuff myself with the xia fan chai........... Any recommendations? I used to go all the time near the Bel-air area and never was impressed with the ones I found. Then again they were mostly buffets.

Go near Jollibee there is a Max’s Restaurant Newly opened and Cherry Foodarama not a buffet. Also, somewhere in Sugarland it’s called Baguio Hut and there is Gerry’s Grill near Belaire.

I will definitely look for TJ's and Cherry Foodarama next time. Glad to hear there's now a Max's. Love their fried chicken. The curse of a mom who can cook and teaches you how to, is that they ruin restaurants lol.

@@Doublebarreledsimian I only ordered Igado at Baguio Hut as I am Ilocano and that’s the only restaurant who serves it. My personal favorite is the TJ’s Filipino Cuisine in Pearland it’s buffet style. Check it out on Saturdays they have sisig included in their buffet and Sundays for lechon. Go there between 10-12n. They serve all day breakfast too.

I lived in DFW and it doesn’t get that bad, your body adjusts really quick. Just keep cereal in a moisture free container because it will get moist.

In Portugal we have the same style of ping but smaller and we roast it in side the clay oven, thos used to cook pizzas and stuff like than, its super tender, spice, and garlicy, its so gooood
