I am full blown starstruck over Whoopi, I could listen to her talk for hours. I wouldn't even know how I would react if I were to ever meet this legend. She was my 90s. From Ghost, to Boys on the Side (just remembered both Drew & Whoopi were in!), to Girl, Interrupted. I was obsessed with Boys on the Side when I was a kid. As a questioning gay kid, seeing Whoopi play an open lesbian character like Jane in a major Motion Picture was so comforting. Representation matters, and she was my representation. She was my light and leading lesbian! You're a treasure, Whoopi!

I met Whoopi and she was everything.. We talked about the Christmas sweater collection. We talked about who does she believe will become the next or who is currently the next big Actor. When she expressed to me how she decorate her table for Christmas it’s just really floored me so much. And it also inspired me to do one of my own. If you really want to get into the art collection and the movie collection she has you have to speak to her directly I was telling myself. But when I woke up from my dream I am like dang it was it all a dream or did I meet her and do universe don’t want anyone else to know! I love this woman so much she come into my dreams

my last partner and I were 6 or 7 years apart and it worked out just fine. We still had a somewhat similar childhood and liked the somethings and there was definitely a gap of things but it wasn't a big deal. the age didn't matter as much as emotional and mentally maturity level. Now I do think she's right in that it makes it harder, its definitely another obstacle you wouldn't have with someone closer in age but its not an impossible obstacle in my experience. With Whoopi it maybe because that might be a bigger issue or a dealbreaker for her but not everyone. We split for other reasons before someone starts commenting "but yall broke up" or something lol. the difference in age had nothing to do with it however I have realized from that experience that I would prefer to date someone closer so I don't have to deal with that obstacle in the future. but I still don't see it as impossible

I definitely disagree about five years or only dating your age or older. I’ve never dated older and typically 10-12 years younger is the norm… (but up to 20 isn’t out of the question.). Age doesn’t dictate maturity in a lot of cases. Being around young people keeps you young! (I’m 54, almost 55. Shhhh.. lol.)

I think the age of both people matter and the gender; people between 30 and 35 have a little more flexibility while over 40 have to be a little more conscious and people between 18 and 30 can just date whomever but of course with its criticism all depending on their gender

I do tend to agree with Whoopi for my own dating life. For me it's no more than 6 years younger/older because by then the generational gap is too large. I'm with Drew as well, as a recent divorcee, I'm much happier alone than partnered. But best of all, it's women living lives that make them happy and comfortable and aren't about pleasing societal standards.
