Whoopi Goldberg Confronts Ann Coulter on Race

Ann Coulter says the Southern Strategy is a myth, and that Democrats are promoting voter fraud. Both blatantly egregious assertions given the fact that it was Richard Nixon himself who started the "Southern Strategy" to appeal to white southern voters after the passing of the Civil Rights Act to get elected. Additionally, to suggest that Democrats promote voter fraud b legislation that makes it harder to vote when there is no evidence of in=person voter fraud is ridiculous.

If Ms. Coulter were to visit the library and read issues of The National Review or Human Events at the time racial segregation in the south was being challenged, the 1950s through mid 1960s, she would discover that these leading conservative publications supported racial segregation in the south and opposed the civil rights movement. And Winthrop Rockefeller was a liberal republican, like his brother, who opposed Goldwater.

They believed in the government being heavily involved in the economy, education, job growth, and ran for higher taxes to pay for such programs. The Democratic Party, on the other hand, was Conservative. They believed heavily in states' rights, were more traditional socially, and ran for lower taxes due to not wanting as much government involvement. The parties switched around the 1910s-1940s, with the main two movers being Teddy Roosevelt, who left the GOP to form the Progressive Party causing progressive Republicans to leave the party, allowing the outnumbered conservative wing to take power. FDR later took the Progressive platform and enacted the very-liberal "New Deal" as a Democrat, which accelerated the process of the switching ideologies. LBJ also helped by making Civil Rights be put on the Democratic platform, making most of the remaining liberal Republicans to make the switch. Learn your history before you spout off random shit thinking it will help your agenda.
