We used to just get beat for everything. Sometimes it worked, but more times than not, it just made me mad that I got caught. So I would be smarter about it the next time. It really only worked when it came to stealing and lying. And that's only because they beat the shit out of me every time I lied or stole. I only stole twice, but I lied pretty frequently up until my teens. Then I stopped when I realized I'm too dumb to get away with it.

Nathan Oliver the wisdom in the text is discipline. God doesn’t advocate parents beating their children because after all he doesn’t do that to us. @aerybery4 жыл бұрын
It's not accurate though. The Bible mentions the rod other times and it is specifically a correction tool and used for striking. I know they're several references in Proverbs. The staff was used for guiding, but the rod was for correction. There is even a verse that mentions not to get caught up in your kids crying about getting punished either. I can come back with the exact scriptures, or anyone could do a search. Hope that clears up the misinformation.
