Some believe it was a very early play, possibly the very first play that Shakespeare wrote. Darkflower4-12 the first blaire witch is literally just a movie of vhs quality scenes that consist of teenagers running in the woods. It's not exactly bad, but all of the tension and "horror" is about stuff happening off screen. The sequel is just a found footage monster movie. The original had a budget of like $50 in gas so it makes sense why they would go for the tension aspect but the sequel is just jump scares and bad cgi.
