@@roboshark8252 ebay. Sometimes it's a crapshoot on what you get but I def scored on this one. Works perfectly, seller included a 32gb sd card with homebrew already on it, ended up being 6 games but all but 2 were crappy titles and none had cases.. Wii sports and Mario galaxy 2 were included, 2 controllers with 2 motion plus, original stand, wii steering wheel, 2 rechargeable battery packs with charger, wii gamepad, and an off-brand gamecube controller. Paid $57 with shipping.

@@mplcausa I did it myself. I did email Dr Mod and he replied with his catalog. But I went down the Reddit hole and used Google to figure it out myself. KZbin has a few good tutorials as well. I originally did the regular homebrew hack but upgraded it to Wiiflow and it is much cleaner looking now

Actually picked up a red wii at goodwill for $30 today. Aside from that I've found them just asking people. Sometimes they just give whatever they have laying around cause they haven't used it in years, or are willing to sell it cheap at a yard sale for the same reason. Asked while at a yard sale if they had any games and they went inside and just brought me a big old box of games and the system and told me to make an offer. Walked away for $30

My grandmother is the reason I got into gaming she used to let me play with her SNES every time I visited her house my mom then got me N64 and besides the original Xbox and PS3 I bought every console released including handhelds at release I am still confused as to how or why my grandmother who didn’t even speak English mind you get one for herself she came to the US in 1994 same year I was born as a refugee from the gulf war so how it appealed to her is beyond me but the crazy part is she knew so many cheats and shortcuts in multiple games like in Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 at a time when game guides were the most relevant way to learn something instead of using the internet she also had the best fighting games all the Mortal Kombat games Street Fighter Killer Instinct and etc.. Writing this made me realize I am old as shit I turn 30 next month 🥲

I tried to put a clear shell on mine but there were sooo many different size screws I lost track. You have to take the entire thing and It was over my ability. I know how to soft mod the Wii but that hard mode got the best of me.

I almost bought a modded Wii a couple years ago cause I wanted to be able to play some GameCube games that were to expensive to buy. I sold my copies of Def Jam Vendetta and Fight For NY and I made enough money to buy a modded Wii U and still had money left over. I decided to get the Wii U since like the Wii it came with full library of Wii, GC and all the Virtual Console stuff. The Wii U had that plus over 2000 games from old consoles via retroarch and the full US release of Wii U games. (Yes I know it was a small list)

Holding the controller sideways sucked but there's a hack to make it way better. Just put the Mario Kart steering wheel on it and it gives you the perfect hand grip when you have no other option..

FYI Emulation on the Wii is limited. Yes you can have all these systems with all these games but N64 and PS1 stuff is very much hit or miss. Don't go expecting goldeneye running buttery smooth. It'll be janky AF.... if it runs at all. Arcade cores on Retroarch are hobbled by the Wii's under powered cpu so yet again, don't expect too much from them. Aside from that, nes, snes, gb, gbc, gba, pce, sms, megadrive all work well. The emulators are just a little lacking in options. 16bit is very much the limit here. Even Neo Geo is limited given the Wiis small amount of Ram, which is wild as NG stuff runs on anything. The real power of modding a Wii is getting to play ANY of the amazing Wii and WiiWare games out there.

I bought a modded Wii for $200 and it came loaded with NES, SNES, Game Boy Advance, Sega, Game Cube and Wii games. It has the side ports so you can use Game Cube controllers. I liked it so much that I bought a modded Wii U to play Wii U games, it has all the features and games that the Wii has also.

WiiToHDMI It cost me $2, and an adapter in HDMI to WGA for $5. Because I connect the console to an old monitor that only has WGA. port. In total, together with the cost of batteries, my wii cost me $58.
