Since I’ve been listing 10 per day I have a 2.2 per cent sell through rate. I’m up to 280 listings and I have had at least 1 sale per day since starting this. Tomorrow I have 13 packages going out so far. Your system works great for me.

I'm up to 397 right now and still selling one to 2 per day. I'm listing a big variety of stuff though because I haven't sourced since I started this. My inventory is a couple of years old and I had a LOT of plush. I really don't expect my numbers to increase much until I start sourcing better clothes. I don't want to buy anything until I clear up all the stuff around the house I need to sell.@@southeastmissourihypnosisf8418
@machelleogle16802 жыл бұрын
@@southeastmissourihypnosisf8418 No, I don’t feel like I’m doing much yet but, like I said, My inventory is old and I sell a lot of plush for around $10 so that’s not doing much since they now do final value fees on shipping. I see a lot of sellers do free shipping and sell their plush for about the same as me. I don’t know why they would do that. I also get a few $50 to $110 sales thrown in there that makes a difference. Several $40 something sales and a few $35. If it was all under $20 I wouldn’t do it. I’ve had 2 days selling over $250 recently. Those help kick up the average. I haven’t been to the bins since this covid thing started. I’m planning on starting that up again next week. I get better stuff cheaper.

I have 160 items and did $800 in sales in the last 31 days averaged about half or more in profit so I’m similar to you! But it was all relatively good stuff that I sourced for reselling where as the the older things from around my house don’t move nearly as quickly :( that’s why I feel her numbers are good ! Especially if it’s stuff from around her house :).@@southeastmissourihypnosisf8418

I have been a fairly religious follower of you for a while now. Not so active in responding, but active in implementing. I use this process for amazon. FOCUS what you want to do/sell and do it. Don’t cross list, do Instacart, sell platelets, and work part time. Pick something! I also work full time. Start with the end goal and work backwards. “I wanna make 100,000 dollars” ok. How many items do you have to list and at what price and how many have to sell each month and at what margin. Thanks Chris. You tha GOAT

whew, I cannot thank you enough. You took the words right out of my mouth and head . Funny how we sometimes, you can know something but we need to hear it from outside. Also you have such a unique way of talking. You are the first person i feel that has been able to show anything remotely close to executing clear results and explanations. thank you for your time. they say those that can do and those that cant teach but that is so untrue because some people can know things and yet be unable to explain how they know or to teach others not just what is known but how to utilize what is learned . if that makes sense lol

Im growing my eBay store very slow. Because of lack of time with 60-70 hour work week. But I'm taking my time to grow my business and see first hand what sells and what doesn't . I know every day, season , year it changes but im a person that needs to physically see and touch ( hands on) approach when it comes to doing my business. So slowly growing I will learn all the in and outs of reselling. Also learning from you has helped so much. Right now im at about a 3.5 percent sell through in my store. Selling about 3-4 items daily on average. I will very slowly grow it without putting to much on my plate because of my busy schedule. You also taught me its ok to have a low inventory as long as I am able to reproduce the same result everyday forever I will grow. your SYSTEM works very well. THANK YOU CHRIS

Because my cheapest, & easiest, way I source items is a completely random product line...it's really difficult to become an expert on my items. My neighbor turned me to selling on ebay, & I gave her my best sources. She smokes so I try to take more of the items that definitely don't need to smell like smoke, & trade her the electronics that she knows way more about. With my wide range of items, I don't think I'll ever be fast..however I really appreciate everything you share ❤ feels like I'm going back to school. Literally 50,000 people online telling peeps to sell different ways

The ruler issue (I have that one myself!) - stick on magnets that you glue to the magnet and stick it to the beams around your photo area there. Either dangling down so you can grab it fast, or stuck to the side, and out of the way, but a little more tricky to grab fast and go.

Cufflinks: Just a quick suggestion that cuts out the necessity of saying "cufflinks not included" in your listing is to get a couple of pair of "silk knot" cufflinks because they are very small, made of a cord with a decorative knot on each end for attaching (etc.) and you can get them in all colors in case you have a colored/patterned shirt and "blue" or "black" won't work.

A lot of the time the shipping cost eBay charged the customer don't match the amount charged by UPS. 80-90% of the time I'd ended up paid extra on shipping vs. eBay charged customer. I just started 1 1/2 month ago and I’ve made $500 so far. It’s not awesome but I’m still physically limited and, for me, I’m doing more than I’ve been able todo in 10 years dealing with a serious back injury. Anyways, I want to open up space in my house and be able to list 20 a day. Once I make a regular income I hope I can invest more in higher end items and to buy some items in bulk, as well. I can see how your listings can get out of hand quickly and you lose times. Luckily I did put my items in thr same category box so it’s relatively ready to find! Lol I’m still working on doing better and cheaper shipping. I’ve made a few mistakes just starting out with shipping. Thankfully everyone but one person didn’t get too upset! I do want to get to the point where I sell 10 a day tho! You really have great information and a great channel! I’m happy I ran across you today.

This guy is a gold mine of advice. The people at ebay only want to help you because they understand when they have more legitimately good sellers on their platform, they can advertise this person heavily and reward more cashflow and sales so they get a bigger market share of online platforms. They basically want to help you help them which is basic for good business.

I agree with you Chris. However, with price, tankers etc cost have been driven down. With the economy and cost of goods and a recent raise in eBay fees it makes it tough for the average person to compete. I know sourcing your merchandise is important as well as cost of goods. But with inflation, gas prices etc it's very hard. I have researched extensively categories at an excruciating pace and people are selling most of their merchandise at a loss. It makes it tough when you know the right thing to do. However, you're competing against disillusioned people have no idea what they're doing. And they keep driving low cost to excruciating areas where they end up owing eBay money as opposed to profiting. In my opinion The emphasis on fast flips are costing people. Huge profit loss. Great video as usual my man!

some of us are short on time & money to build momentum up to hit 1% a day. But my goal was to boost my profit margins and I've gone from 25-30% a couple years ago to about 50% now. So that's a HUGE metric for me. I'll take my 22% sell through rate with 50% Profits over 32% sell through rate 2 yrs back at 25% profit. And my Amazon is going bust 25% sell through rate now that I got ungated and sent my 1st FBA. Slow, but steady progress is better than none or little

China and Glass cleaning: Hmm. I do a huge portion of my sales in that "Glass and Pottery" or whatever it's called now category. The secret to speed is, if you have multiples of the same item, unless you are listing them ALL as a single lot, you only clean the one that you're photographing. Then shelve everything after listing. Clean them as a part of packing to ship, because what if it takes a year or so to sell them all? They get dirty again sitting on the shelf! (This is not including stuff that's dingy dirty with stuff you wouldn't want "contaminating" your storage bins, of course.) If you're selling everything as a single item, you have to clean them all. The single line of advice here: clean what you're going to photograph.

I know this video is older but I just started a week ago and listed I think 22 items and sold 8 so I think it’s a matter of not just buying inventory but researching every item before you buy it so that you know it’s got a sell through rate of at bare minimum 50% but preferably 100%
@mavericksetsuna7396 Жыл бұрын
Remember when buying items with a low sell rate that you might be able to bundle them for a near 100% sell rate. Like how no one will buy a single sports game, but some people will buy 10 of them bundled with 10 other non sports games. Honestly nothing wrong with buying some sports games for 1$-2$ depending on the system.

My process is SLIGHTLY different. I do the whole listing first, and than take the photos with my mobile app which auto upload into the listing. But I am using Android, works better that way for me. Also, only LISTING 10 a day takes an hour. Other stuff takes time as well, such as sourcing, shipping, cleaning, etc.... 1 hour a day is NOT REALISTIC. especially for new joiners. A lot easier when you have employees or assistants.
@dailyrefinement Жыл бұрын

Selling 10 a day is NOT the problem, selling 10 a day with good profit is the thing. It is not about how many you sell, it's about how much money you make. Ill tell you how crossposting works. if you get banned by one site you already have another up and running. When eBay decides not to show your items, etsy is still selling your stuff. or Mercari or Posh. I really wish I would have been crossposting years ago. Ive had stuff sell on etsy in the past year that had sat on ebay for years. It should have sold. It was priced fairly, lots of pictures, but for some reason it sat. Crosspost to etsy or mercari and it was out the door in a week. thats why you crosspost. Oldest rule in the book. Dont put all your eggs in one basket.

Returns on electronics: Yikes! You shouldn't have those at all. On vintage electronics especially by a company no longer in business, put the listing in the category for "Parts only - Not Working" or whatever it's called for that particular product. You are guaranteeing up front that it's not going to work, and you are selling it for parts. If it's something that could be dismantled (example: a multi-attachment vacuum cleaner from the 1960s), then list all those parts individually and "strip" the item down as if getting parts for your old Chevy at the junk yard. Somebody, somewhere needs that upholstery attachment for the old school cleaner, and you have it... for a price. the caveat is to make sure you're listing small parts that are very easy to pick up and ship, AND that take up a minimum of space in your inventory area because you might be sitting on it a while. Upside is that if you part out a $5 vacuum cleaner, you have a very small cost of goods per part! The second idea is to buy something that you can get fixed locally. I live in a town filled with people who buy vintage vinyl. Ergo, there's at least one shop in town (maybe two) that can fix old audio equipment. There's also an indie camera shop that does repairs and cleaning on SLR cameras. So, first get an estimate on the repair you need, if that is not too high, add the cost of the repair to the cost of goods for the item, and base your markup on that "repaired item" number. I once had an antique string instrument that had some value but when I bought it, it had lived some years in the guy's garage and needed a lot of help! I had the instrument restored to a "playable condition" but not perfect, and sold it based on that restoration + original cost of the instrument. By having the antique instrument in a nice, playable condition, it sold for about 4x what it would have if I'd just sold it as "garage found." But this alternative is really based on that (cost+repairs)=CoGS vs. the cost of sold comps.

If you upload your photos from your phone to start, you can do all the typing, etc. on your computer later.

This is one of my favorite videos so far. I need to go through and watch and take notes. One thing I’m trying to figure out now is why listings were automatically re-listing until a month or so in. Now I have to manually relist every 7 days. Any hints on this?
