Then again what did Virgil Abloh do? Printed a logo on some flannels, copied a load of other designer’s work, Helvetica Nueve, a logo and a yellow belt. And he was one of the most revered designers.

@@aliciaalicia2255 He took Ralph Lauren flannels, Champion shorts and printed Pyrex 23 on them (because he thought MJ and crack repesented Chicago lol) and sold it 10x the price. He got lucky at the right time, he previous creative director role did nothing to make him succeed.

I stumbled across this video due to the recommendations and as a brand owner myself for a year now, I honestly agree with your advice especially the first part with the friends promo thing because it literally just happened to me and if anything I want it to be earned not just given. And you’re completely right about building a world around the brand as well than just clothes that’s why when I can, I tend to post artwork around the brand to show the artistic side of it and the overall aesthetic.
