My advice for anyone thinking about pulling all teeth and getting snap in. Make sure you get someone who knows what they're doing. Had my teeth pulled on bottom. Three months in and I still don't have any temps. I developed difficulty swallowing which sent me to the hospital because I can't eat or drink properly. Now I've developed anxiety over swallowing. Don't know exactly what happened but it's a serious problem. Wish I kept my bad teeth, at least could eat. Hopefully I'll get used to this.

I read that a speech pathologist can help retrain the swallowing...I have a few teeth in back but the front were pulled 2 weeks ago...I am eating mushy food and smoothies and soups...very little at a time....also quiches.......I have swallowing issues as it is..and I understand.........I cannot afford implants right now.....I am looking to get a partial...for now.....How are you doing now?

You explained all of this better than my dentist did! I just had the two implants put in a few days ago and still kind of sore. I have to wait 3 months before I can get my lower snap in denture, as he said it must take that long to heal, which is okay with me, better safe than sorry! I wish I had watched your video before I went in though! Thanks for the video!

Thank you so much for the video and positive information about Snap Ons.. I'm closing in on receiving my snap on (4 post was my decision so it is more secure) denture finally. Have had my implants exposed and my old denture modified with space for the posts now that they are capped. So looking forward to the end result, it's amazing how we take for granted simply eating foods we like. Complete diet change for me the past 4 months - ready to enjoy food again (hopefully!).

I will be getting exactly this plan for myself, snap in denture with 2 implants for lower and regular denture for the top. My choice is mainly due to budget. Each implant costs too much for me. If money is no object, of course I'd like at least 4 implants each for top and bottom but it's too much. So this is what I have decided on. Perhaps in future if I have the extra money, I will add implants to the top jaw as well. This video has given me more confidence that I have made the right choice for myself at this time. Thank you so much!

I just got snap in denture’s which took almost 7 month’s to get I love them 💯 I went to Aspen Dental they made ( 2 ) sets of dentures’s which didn’t fit my small mouth the last set the top denture’s stuck out of my mouth it looked like a huge overbite we received my money back then it took me 8 year’s to finally get snap in denture’s eight year’s without teeth is very depressing. I had to have 5 snap’s in my bottom gum because I had some bone loss in the bottom gum

Hello I started losing my upper teeth maybe some 7 or 8 years ago and just didn’t care anymore . I was working on them 11 years ago and then January 13 , 2014 I lost my 17 yr old son (my first born) and stopped taking care of my self and I barely leave the house since then. That being said I haven’t smiled either for 10 years . I’m now in a much better place and unfortunately so much damage (bone loss ) due to no teeth. Question is where do I start (I have no upper and I only have 2 bottom front teeth that spread apart ) . This is very embarrassing for me and the reason preventing me to walk in a dentist office . First I wouldn’t know what type of dentist I should go to? Thank you

@VeryNiceSmileDental3 ай бұрын
Hi, do you have traditional dentures currently? Yes, 3 implants would be more stable than 2 implants, but it costs more.
@lauriehazen8990 Жыл бұрын
Very interesting. Thanks for the video. I'm in a holding pattern right now as to what to do with my teeth so I find your videos very informative. What is the standard treatment for infection around the implant? Antibiotics or removal of implant? I only ask because I have lousy dental insurance. Lol Thanks again.
@VeryNiceSmileDental Жыл бұрын
You're welcome, thanks very much for watching. Since implants are different than teeth, infections around implants tend to occur around the top of the implant, not down at the tip of the implant in the jawbone like they can with a tooth. If it's caught early, treating it usually involves cleaning around the implant and showing the person how to keep it clean at home. Once you lose bone around an implant, then it gets tricky. Best would be to remove the implant. Some dentists and specialists will try to surgically clean the implant and place a bone graft around it. The results of that procedure aren't great. The newer implant designs that are popular nowadays tend to hold bone better than older implant designs.

@@VeryNiceSmileDental Thank you so much for the explanation. You've been a great help. We need more dentists like you who are willing to take the time to answer questions instead of just walking out of the office when they're finished.

Does food get underneath the fixed dentures?
@VeryNiceSmileDental8 ай бұрын
Hi, a little bit of food will get under a denture. Not as much with a snap in denture. If the person has fixed implant teeth, food will get under them as well.

Thanks for the video! I am currently waiting for my 4 lower posts to integrate and had 7 extractions, two of which were wisdom teeth. (6 mos @ affordable denture) I have a new traditional top denture and temp on bottom. Obviously I am not happy at the moment 2 weeks in LOL. If I am not happy with 4 snaps when done, will I be able to put a new All on 4 prosthetic on my 4 posts later??? Or are the 4 imlants done different for the snap on rather than all on 4 system??
@VeryNiceSmileDentalАй бұрын
Hi, it will depend on where the implants were placed. Technically, snap in dentures are more forgiving with implant placement. An "all on 4" type of prosthetic needs a lot more restorative space ( the distance from the the tops of the implants to the biting surface of the teeth) than a snap in denture. Though sometimes custom posts and a cement retained fixed bridge can be made. Always discuss all your options before you have any teeth pulled or implants placed. Think of dental implants as being the foundation of a house. The type of house you can place on the foundation will depend on what the foundation can hold.

Do permanent all on 4s get crap underneath them ?
@VeryNiceSmileDental10 ай бұрын
Yes they do. Most people need to use superfloss or a proxybrush to clean underneath an all on 4. The underside of the all on 4 also needs to be properly shaped so that it can be cleaned, otherwise you'll get a bad taste and odor if you can't clean it.

My issue is having a Tori on the roof of my mouth I must get this. Or full mouth implants. Which is expensive. The other issue is I have sinus issues thus feel the top will not stay in with just 2 implants on top. I am fearful I need 4 on top and 4 on bottom. The dentist is telling me he can avoid the sinus on top? Is that possible? And can I eventually get 4 on 1 permanent implants using the same implants?
@VeryNiceSmileDental Жыл бұрын
Hi, tori can be removed. I always recommend 4 implants for upper snap in dentures. Sinus lifts are usually not a big deal unless you have no bone over your sinus. Implants for snap in dentures may not work for all on 4 fixed teeth. This video may give you some more information, kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGi3h2x5qKuBm6c

What do you do if your dentures have hairline fractures on the bottom teeth and after 30 days they glue they used make them fall out and this is all before the mesh gets put in. Do I need new dentures or are these fixable to where I can bite without losing four teeth. 0:53

Do you take snap in dentures out at night?

Ideally yes. That way you can clean the dentures and implant posts, and it gives your gums a chance to rest overnight.

Teeth pulled in FEB 2024, eight implants placed four upper and four lower. The bottom will be snap on, the top will have a bar. One top implant failed and I had it replaced last week with a thicker and more aggressively threaded implant with grafting compound. Scheduled for implant exposure one June to have the temp screw removed and the post put in. My prosthodontist and oral surgeon are going slower than I want; however, watching these type videos, I find that I see where they are looking out for my long term oral health. I’m still anxious for June to get here so I can stop using adhesive.
