There's a reason why the US ran election ads in Nigeria and why Blinken was so quick to congratulate Tinubu on his election win. Nigeria isn't ruled by the Nigerian people, it's ruled by Washington DC. A coup is necessary. The US ensured that the outcome of Nigeria's election would serve US economic and geopolitical interests at the detriment of Nigerian people. This is what the US does in every country throughout Africa and Latin America and other continents.
