@LagunaL8 Of course, but look outside USA though, what freedom do you have? You are blackmailed thinking that the USA is the best place to live in the world and the world is jealous of your freedom. These are lies.In reality, the government doesn't care about its citizens, allowing the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer, and that's the way the government wants it to stay, other countries look after their citizens.

The luxury and freedom are taken for granted in this country. However, with that said, it is strongly important that we not compare ourselves to a fascist murderous dictatorship that is completely closed off to the world. Instead, the US should compare itself to countries that we should be aiming to be a little more like, like for instance, Finland.

I'm glad that your experience in the US was positive. However, to get a true feel of the country, I would recommend that at the earliest possible opportunity, that you get out of Washington D. C. Rent a car and with your interpreter, take a cross country road trip. I believe you'll find that the vast majority of us are friendly, even when they don't have to be. I personally found this to be more true in rural areas than cities, so getting off the interstates and seeing the small towns should be included. One more thing; allow lots of time. Our country is huge. The US is, according to Google, 99 times the size of South Korea.

Shorts it depends as the invite would say what type of dress. If there isn’t anything on it assume casual clothes. If it says formal wear a nice suit or dress, white tie clean up really good, black tie clean yourself and wear the best suit/ dress you have. Business casual usually is just regular casual with a sports coat.

So, Americans tend towards casual, even in situations you might think require business or formal attire. We're also a lot less concerned with social status. I think it's because we believe, as a people, that everyone is equal. We don't always live up to that belief, but it fosters a sense of independence and a sense of individualism. So we're less likely to dress up (at least in the 21st century) and we're less likely to treat our leaders with any sort of deference. If I ran into one of my Senators on the street, I would be polite, but I'd treat them as an equal, and if I was displeased with their performance, I'd let them know it. This bad thing happened, and I want to know what you're going to do about it!

I'm reasonably sure omuraisu is of Japanese origin. You can tell because its name comes from (obviously kana-ized) Western words, "omelette" and "rice", one of which is abbreviated in the Japanese fashion, and the order in which the roots are combined is backwards to the way it would be in any Western language. If that's not wasei eigo, I'll eat my hat. Plus it makes sense, given Japan's national obsession with rice: of course they would put rice in an omelette. In America you're only likely to find dishes like that in regions with a substantial Asian immigrant population, principally the west coast, and a handful of large cities elsewhere. We definitely don't have omuraisu where I live in the Midwest. Heck, we still don't even have bubble tea here, unfortunately. Maybe someday.

She should have listened to the latest greatest hits while she visit, not sure if he visited US or one of our island off the shores of America. We have all different types of restaurants (Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Italian, Mexican, etc., and our specialty is American). Not to mention, but we are multi language people in other word very smart. In some countries, their high school is considered college. American have pre-K school, Elementary, Middle School, High School, and then College/Universities. No short cuts for Americans when it comes to Education. So when you visit the real United States don’t limit your mind to just talking to several people are telling you, look beyond and experience yourself.

It's always up to the individual to decide if the environment is beneficial to them. That being said, it's not surprising that any North Korean would find that their life is better ANYWHERE ELSE besides North Korea. North Korea has sent an initial 10,000 troops into Russia for training...well "re-fitting" really. Ukraine is waiting for them to surrender en-masse - these men have been lied to their entire lives and some of them know that.

They rarely get to eat beef, chicken, or any kind of meat. They eat alot of rice and even insects, like grasshoppers. I would expect they would all be shocked to see what's available in a typical, American, supermarket. And - that the average American can afford that stuff. Just so you know, near the beginning when you say you’re a lecturer with a KZbin channel to promote North Korea, the implication is that you support the regime in North Korea, which I’m guessing is far from true given that you’re a defector promoting human rights. Perhaps it’s not a big deal, but for people coming to your channel the first time, and seeing the words “promote North Korea”, that might be enough to make them stop watching. Which would be a shame.

Every time I watch one of these interviews, it feels like the inteviews are incomplete. North Korea had this impression of America since the end of The Korean War in 1953. Are the impressions today the same as it was back in 1953? How does North Korea explain the economic success of South Korea? I'm sure through smuggled videos and movies, they see how more modern everything is in South Korea. The same goes for America and their neighbor China. How is it possible for the North Korean political party to explain all these things away? The citizens should feel like their politicians are completely lying to them. And what is the explanation of limiting the internet to only North Korea? If North Korea were better than the rest of the world, why are the North Korean officials hiding the rest of the world from it's citizens?

Life in the US is so noisy and everyone has to drive a car. Americans talk to each other about nothing and they like to stare at people. The violent crime in the US is crazy too. I can visit the US for short stays but I am always looking forward to getting back to Tokyo where there is no crime, no homeless people, great customer service, and everyone is very respectful. When I first moved to Tokyo, I had to learn how to live like a decent person and lose all my bad US habits and think about others. Now I can't believe how American's can behave and they seem quite shameless. Japan is also lucky because the Japan government doesn't take many migrants because Japanese want Japan to stay Japanese. I can't imagine having to live in the US again in my life. I actually feel sorry for my parents and sister. But they don't know any better so they are OK with it.
