I'm so happy to say that my young adult children have never been caught up on trying to keep up with the Jones's, Jacksons, etc.... I taught them the value of money and to always make certain your basic needs are met, keep, your personal hygiene in order, clean clothes, home and transportation, and never try to impress others by being flashy, its kept them humble and grounded, mean while their financial accounts continue to increase.

@bessiewright223527 күн бұрын
My car was total and it looks horrible; however, I can still drive it so on my debt free journey I refuse to buy a new one. I’ve had the car since 2008. State Farm refused to pay to get it fix even though it’s drivable, they totaled it, and only offered me $2,000 for it. I have been paying full coverage on it since 2008 when I bought the car and this is my first time filing a claim on it. I am livid. I’ve given them enough money over the years for full coverage insurance that I could have bought a home in cash and they couldn’t even give me enough to pay for damages. Anyway, as you know some folks keep telling me to buy a new car but it doesn’t make sense to me right now so I will continue driving the damaged car while I’m on my debt free journey until it makes sense to do otherwise. Thanks for the tips and encouragement.

This makes me think about all the money I blew trying to build a rap career. I blew over 100k to not even break even. I could have put that money elsewhere. Hey Anthony, you said in the video that you started to change your mindset at age 33. I'm 34 and with a newborn I've also seen my mindset shift in the last year. It allowed me to pay off my car and even though there are other things I want, I understand they are just wants and not needed right now. I'm curious, at 33 where did you start shifting your lifestyle. Did you have debt that you focused on or did you simply just start living below your means? Hoping for some feedback. I'm currently focused on paying off my student loans right now and once that's done I'll focus on simply saving/investing and paying down my mortgage.
