Amazing video. Really appreciate this as I’m looking at replacing these arms at the moment and was wondering about the adjustable ones.

What if you are running all stock, but you just want it to last longer than oem will the adjustball bushing works too?😊
@FIGSEng5 ай бұрын
Adjustable bushings rotate the pivot, so they work, but will stress the #1 location.

Just want a good tension rod for grip and drift. On coilsovers and feel like I should go back to stock suspension parts because of height drop. But my rods are worn and a lot of vibration.

So for my lowered s13, it’s better to put new bushings on my front caster rods instead of adjustable for light grip racing? Everyone tells me to get yhem

So, what about a cam bolt similar to camber adjustmebt bolts for Macpherson struts used in the rearward bolt hole on the control arm with an adjustable length tension arm? May not be a huge range of adjustment but quicker than pressing bushings in and out repeatedly to get the propper adjustment.
@FIGSEng2 жыл бұрын
Plenty of ways to do this... just no company that mashes these arms allow any pivot there. We already solve this issue on our PROAngle tension arms but they are designed for our LCA not stock.

Seems like the standard 5-6 degrees of caster is ideal anyway..

Some of us have lowered our cars and have cut knuckles / shortened spindles, but are trying to get back to oe caster and camber for drivability and tire wear.
@FIGSEng2 жыл бұрын
Regardless of the things that you mentioned these arms cannot move past OE measurements otherwise otherwise they would bind. That is all this video is about. You don't lose caster from lowering.

@@FIGSEng So what causes my 04 gs300 to lose 2 degrees off caster??? My alignment settings are nearly perfect other than that.
@FIGSEng2 жыл бұрын
@@mrman8856 like I mentioned, if its not a swapped upper control arm, then I would look at the #2 caster arm length and or bushing to see if it is collapsed.

@@FIGSEngWasn't the caster arm ( changed to adjustables anyway ). My upper arm wasn't on the wrong side either lol. But you was correct about it being the upper arm, the ball joint was bad from hitting the wheel well...I also want to say you are correct about the adjustable caster arms moving the suspension and binding, specifically during hard breaking, or cornering
@lelakisejati44564 жыл бұрын
that arm and that bar always bind coz the arc is different..
@davemathewscustoms21333 жыл бұрын
Why dont you make like Ackerman washer the allow the arm to change angle
@FIGSEng3 жыл бұрын
Because the threaded portion is on the caster arm not the lateral arm. A pivot needs to be designed into both arms.
@davemathewscustoms21333 жыл бұрын
I understand. But technically cant the furthest hole from the catser rod mount be the pivot and the close one be be like slot to get the adjustment at that bolt
@FIGSEng3 жыл бұрын
@@davemathewscustoms2133 yes... but none are designed this way except for our Proangle arms. You would need a slot and a floating fastener. You still stress the front bushing in any adjustment without replacing it with a spherical joint.

@@marwatfpv4419One year later... 2 sets of FIGS adjustable end links later ( improper installation on my part ) lol...I used RCA's to get my suspension geometry back, and like the FIGS guy said I did have a bad upper arm ball joint, it was on the correct side of the car though lol. My arm kept hitting the upper wheel well, which caused the ball joint to prematurely fail. And I have adjustable caster arms.
