I remember visiting the Afar region in 2019. This brings back so many memories - the incredible landscapes and people, the boys with Crocs and Kalashnikovs, the camel caravans, going to the salt flats on the Eritrean border and sleeping on the lip of an active volcano (Erta Ale). It was a truly humbling experience. The only vehicles on the road were the white Toyota pickups of the tour guides and red Chinese construction trucks. I remember how excited our tour guides were to show us a new road that would cut travel time to the volcano by 2 hours.

I would like to point out tho, that its not "happening again" like he claims (9:25), but that it is constant and doesnt stop and start. It is quite disappointing how high quality the videos are and then they have silly little factual mistakes that show that it hasnt been researched quite as well as they appear to be (It's not specific to this one unfortunately). Still great quality overall, but it ruins it a bit for me. Edit: fixed slightly wrong wording on quote and added timestamp for it.

Is the song from 8:38 one of the custom made pieces by Mr. Becker-Neu? If so: Could we have uploads of the pieces similar to the way Kurzgesagt and Lemmino are doing it? Edit: I'm asking because the music is incredible. I don't say this often but I *need* this track in my playlist Edit 2: Fixed a spelling mistake

Holy moly man, this is some serious production value. I got chills from the first few minutes with how immersed I was. I want to say it's Netflix level, but I honestly feel that would be insulting in a way. Keep up the awesome work. :)

@@00shivani Nothing, lol - as a matter of fact, I'm running Blender on my laptop (which doesn't even have a dedicated GPU!) I do aspire to have a MacBook Pro, though, because the battery life on my (14-inch) IdeaPad is genuinely atrocious.

@@just_mdd4 I’m a programmer + artist and I purchased a desktop computer this year. For $1200 i got intel i9 13th gen cpu + standard intel graphics card (but i can switch it out whenever), 32GB ram, and 2TB SSD, plus a monitor keyboard and mouse. I was on a little laptop prior to that too. Even if i switch to a top of the line nvidia graphics card, my final cost would be close to $2000, whereas a new iMac of similar specs would be no less than $3k. I’ve used an iMac before and it’s fine, only considerations, you can’t go in and customize your preferences after purchasing it. Also I’m not a fan of how the mouse moves and that the browsers are never full screen lol. All this to say: save your money lol. PCs are better value. I use apple products for everything else, iPhone, iPad (although i regret buying my iPad… i should have bought the MacBook laptop instead, and for drawing, a standard drawing pad attachment for my computer. I bought the iPad mostly for procreate. Bad usage. Can’t properly use photoshop, blender, nothing) But MacBooks are very nice too. I haven’t researched that many laptops, but i know MacBook is a better deal than the iMac.

I'm jealous I'll never be alive to see the whole split. But I bet that some people who see the end of the split will be jealous of me for being alive to see the beginning. What a time to be alive.

I'm a subscriber from day 1 and watched every video, but this is one of my favorites. Love the intro, the drone shots, the animations, etc. But especially the narration when vloging that is beautifully supported by great music. It just gave me goosebumps this whole video. So thank you fern and Vali Levi for bringing such an incredible story about geology, politics but foremost the people!
