Okay as a rabid Chrollo fangirl i loved your video on Chrollo but this video, especially the parts about unconditional love and acceptance, gave me chills and feels at multiple points. Looking at the campfire scene when gon and killua are out in the Forrest on whale island killua states I’ll follow you and help you along succeed your goal with finding your dad until I find my own goal ( a rough paraphrase). I feel like Alluka fulfills goal especially when gon is about to find his dad. In a story writing POV it makes sense while boosting the story

Great video! If we ever get more H X H, I want to see Kalluto have a character arc in the Succession War. I'd love for Alluka and Leorio to play roles in helping Kalluto find more agency away from their family. It'd be amazing to see Alluka want to do for Kalluto the same that Killua did for her.

Throughout the story of hunter x hunter, Gon was searching for his father and Killua was searching for his own purpose- that purpose was Alluka. Alluka's character indirectly plays an important role in developing Killua's character and in his back story. Alluka was the first person in Killua's life with whom killua shared a bond of unconditional love and friendship, but due to Alluka's power and thanks to Illumi's needle, Killua and Alluka had to be separated both physically and mentally. Throughout his whole life (before meaning GON), Killua actually longs for this bond, this connection. Killua defines this desire as his longing for having a true friend, but, in Killua's subconscious, it was always a longing for regaining the love and connection that he failed to protect in his childhood ultimately resulting Gon and Killua's bond and Killua's over-protective nature towards his new friend, his new bond. Thus, ultimately accepting and protecting Alluaka, Killua finds the true purpose of his life which he was longing for the entirety of the series. Unfortunately, the portion of Alluka's importance in both of Gon and Killua's life and their conclusion is really underrated. Thanks for covering this heart warming part in your video.

I do believe Allukas character design as far as being claimed as a female I do believe that's due to the entity that Is possessing him and I do believe that entity is what refers to itself as a female and therefore like any codependency it has persuaded him to reference himself as a her; Unlike in Killuas place it is simply preference.

Alluka isnt trans. Heres my theory :) Feel free to disagree! Nanika is the one that does the killing and bidding of the wisher. I think Nanika is male. The entire family only sees the part of Alluka that is Nanika. The father referrs to Alluka as not even human. The brothers call Alluka a brother they want to kill. They cant see the girl, their daughter or sister, through the evil powers of Nanika. Therefore, they all call Alluka a male, but really referring to Nanika. Killua sees Alluka for who she really is, and calls her a sister. The person. I think that Alluka is female and Nanika is male, whatever it is that is possessing her/ability. Those who see the person beyond Nanika can see Alluka Just my take :)

Something interesting I've noticed is that Nanika always responds with "kay" when granting a wish. However, when Killua asks Nanika to forgive him, she responds with "Okay", to me this shows that she truly accepted his apology, not because she was forced to by Killua making a wish, but because she genuinely loves Killua and could tell that Killua genuinely meant his apology too.

Alluka is a very light trans allegory. It's not over the nose, and if you are not familiar with the delusion that is transgenderism (as I was fortunately when I first watched it), this seemed like a translation error or simply characters being confused as this person preferred to dress like a girl while still being a boy (which is totally fine). Many people still argue Togashi is not supporting trans ideology, and is just creating characters with quirks. I don't think that is the case. First, there is a clear order as to who calls Alluka "she" and who calls him with his correct pronoun. It is basic "I support your self Identification" schtick, and nothing to do with Nanika being a girl. Second, you also have characters like Kalluto just in case you were missing the point. Also, this is not surprising since Togashi has shown extremely regressive and creepy attitude throughout the story regarding sex, women and sexuality. There are more pedophiles in HxH than decent female characters. So it kinda makes sense Togashi thinks men can just put on a dress and become women. His decision to depict this in kids is not surprising, again, if you look at Gon/Palm date storyline. He clearly thinks children can consent/participate in sexual discourse. Hope he gains some sanity before completing the story
