The weird thing about being delayed is one time you can go in and get a proceed, a week later go to buy one and it's delayed. It's very annoying they obviously know I'm not prohibited since I just bought a gun a week ago. Sure you can file an appeal with the FBI but they're not processing them actually I think there's a lawsuit right now because of this very issue.

You can add number 6 to your list.If you are on a legal "Non immigrant" status such us TN,H1B .etc.you will be delayed as well.I was delayed 3 times because of this.On top of that some FFL dealers don't know those legal statuses are allowed to purchase fire arms so when someone tries to buy a gun they hesitate at first when it comes to fill in the NICS application form.They ask for some documents which are not required by law such as 90 days of recent address ,Utility bill statements.

Yes, When there are gun shows going on and there are high volumes of background checks going on there will be a "natural" delay in process the background requests. A way to avoid this "natural" delay is to choose a gun store that calls in each background individually. That speeds up the approval process by circumventing the volumes of requests done via the computer. VERY few gun stores do that. At Vienna Arsenal, we call in EVERY background and it makes a huge difference. Hope this explains it a little better.

Washington State 1st time gun buyer. Delayed. I think because I got into a fight with my stepdad at age 18 and the cops were called. Went through and completed probation for Domestic violence and my records were sealed and expunged. I'm very curious if this is why it is being Delayed. The abridgment of our inalienable right to self defense is clear to me after this ordeal. I can't believe in some states you have to get a pardon from the governor to "restore" your rights. I am a law abiding citizen I did my time this is outrageous how tyranny is legislated on freemen by far worse criminals. It’s actually mostly none of those things… the main reason why this happens is because your name, address or ssc# is similar to someone with a felony, domestic abuse, or some type of reason why you shouldn’t own a gun. It’s basically just an extra check to make sure your not the person that closely resembles a felon or whatever the case may be. What if your case had been expunged and signed off by judge and they said delayed until July 9th but before then if accepted I can buy. Last name Willis too probably pretty common. You’ll help me out

Even if the felony has been expunged does not restore your rights to own a gun, however if the felony was first dropped to a misdemeanor then expunged it would. Hope this helps.

Talon I haven’t plead felony. I plead first offender. So I never have been convicted.

Certificate of relief of disabilities or certificate of good conduct is supposed to allow you to purchase long guns. As long as civil rights have also been restored. Every state is different. If a felony is expunged then that means it basically never happened. At least this is my understanding in all this.

I am a Welles and nobody spells there last name like mine. And I dont have any criminal history and every time I've tried to buy a firearm ive been delayed for up to a week sometimes smh. I just dont get it. Its frustrating to say the least.

live in ohio last 2 guns was delayed and I have a state LN as a security guard I also heard in ohio even police officers were delayed as well. if it happens again the store said I could put in for a pin number so this wouldn't keep reacuring when buying a gun...
