I had a patient discharged from a long term acute care facility due to insurance not covering the patients stay any longer. This patient died 2 days later at a nursing home. According to the insurance company, the patient did not need the higher level of care. It is criminal the way insurance dictates your care.

For profit isn’t a problem when providers and healthcare professionals are the ones making the profit. It’s all the administrative overhead and greed; ie middle men, insurance companies, and executives.

Put "Healthcare" in quotes too. 💔 4th of June 2024, FDA "voted" against the concensus medical science by blocking MDMA assisted therapy for PTSD. Every hour, a US military veteran with PTSD unalives themselves. 🕯

@@Instinct97 Exactly right; at least 25% added to costs to pay for these middle men, then add excessive drug costs, etc and it adds up to the most expensive system in the world but ranks #42 in overall effectiveness.

“Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” So bogus. How the hell can someone be happy or pursue anything if they’re sick! If they die for someone else’s yacht! Yeah, you’re free, free to die or be in debt forever and still probably die. Healthcare is a human right! We have the resources, they just aren’t in the right places. SO MANY people have lost loved one or suffered for some out of touch rich psychopath. At least this news segment tried to touch on some of the grievances, instead of basically all the other ones gaslighting and lying. We aren’t stupid. This greed has got to go.

THE TRUTH HERE IT IS as it’s behind the scenes information: Healthcare Systems/Hospital CEO & Leadership take large salary plus perks while understaffing all the clerical staff that process the claims. Over 50% of those entire claims never get touched or corrected. They get paid less than fast food workers and it’s been going on for decades! Every year they lay off clinical staff including doctors and the clerical folks that do majority of the paperwork. DOCTORS are quitting and fed up with leadership but don’t entirely stand up against them because they too are employees. I witnessed a whole office of doctors leave HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES are not regulated enough and government has allowed them to control healthcare through tedious prior authorization and claims denials when not justified. Practices are in place to intentionally delay and deny care. It’s strategic THIRD PARTY BROKERS , FMO, IMO are PIMPS in the sales side of these health plans. DIRTY BUSINESS AND MANY SCHEME TO SELL MOSTLY UHC FOR HIGHER COMMISSION AND KICKBACK. THESE FMO (s) are highly unregulated and need to be EXPOSED. Very unethical, dirty and takes advantage of Americans at large.

Talk to someone who was forced BY their Medical insurance company to find a primary care although there was found to be unnecessary and soon after they do find one then mysterious ailments begin to crop up. Then your life and free time is not your own. You're soon under fire from your employer for using your sick leave when you're scheduled for the myriads of Dr.'s appointments that will NEVER, EVER END. The trips to labs for blood tests upon blood tests. The pharmacy staff and you are on first name basis.. It has allowed access to healthcare to millions, but the ACA has it's limitations by still going through the insurance companies. A government controlled system adds about 3-4% to the administrative costs whereas the current system adds almost 25%. Also the drug companies, pharmacy benefit managers, and insurance companies work together to keep all of their profits high while squeezing healthcare providers and patients.

How about massive deregulation including no more barrier to entry through licensing? In addition no more government mandated through violence requirements to have insurance. Side note employer supplied insurance started during WWII because the government implemented wage controls. Employers couldn't pay more actual wages so they came up with "health care benefits." Now you have a perverse incentive to charge more because there is a collective pot of money. And there is no such thing as price gouging. There is simply what the market will support.

Too bad we didn't set up a universal system like almost every other industrial democracy did in the 1940s. We would be much healthier on average, we have very good healthcare if you can afford it, but many can't and that brings down our life expectancy numbers and quality of life for many because they can't afford it.

No, all of Congress gets first class paid healthcare like all of us should get. Obamacare is much better than nothing, and should really be called Romneycare as he was the first to enact it as governor of Massachusetts.

It’s far more nuanced than Obamacare. Unless you’ve studied the full history of the Health Insurance Industry (which I suspect you have not), I would avoid empty, ill informed one-liners.

@@charbam9506 It has many factors besides Obamacare, but Obamacare was a giant handout to UH. UH was their biggest lobbyist. UH was the ACA's biggest corporate backer. Look how much their AARP supplemental plan enrollment grew after passage. Now Medicare automatically enrolls you in a company like UH and you have to opt out to stay private. I was a private physician. I quit partially due to this crap. You can see the same thing with how their PBMs are killing private pharmacies. Same way Walmart and Costco are killing mom and pop retail stores and gas stations. Corporate lobbyists.

Hello there, May I share the most important news with you? God the Father sent his Holy Son Jesus (Y'shua) to earth to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. After that they put Him in a tomb for 3 days, and on the 3rd day Abba Father raised Jesus to life and He appeared to people. Then Christ ascended back to heaven. We all must genuinely believe in Christ and receive Him into our life as Savior to be saved. John 1:12 says: " But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Will you put genuine faith in Christ and receive Him into your life today?
