They use the M4. Every single part is interchangeable to the corresponding civilian Ar-15. It is the same rifle but has select fire(Full auto). There is no other difference. Barrel lengths, butt stocks and everything are just as interchangeable. You can buy the exact configuration of rifle from several places some of the companies literally ship the same rifles out to the military. Especially if you get into KA and their line of rifles like the SR-25. In other words yes they use Ar-15s they just call them M4s. Specifically some set ups you can even buy as a package directly from the same manufacturers that ship the exact same rifle out to the military but remove two parts and exchange one out for civilians which only removed it’s automatic capability. This is coming from a 2A full supporter this is just a dead statement that comes from a lot of people on the right that isn’t really true. The statement is that the Ar-15 was NOT made FOR the military. It was made for civilians. But adopted by the military later on in Vietnam. Eugene stoner had also designed various other rifles before this. It’s just another gun.

Its an AR-style rifle. It was first introduced to the military as the AR15 by Armalite, then i think Colt bought the rights to it. Then the military added their nomenclature “M16” and “M4” for the long- and short-barrel versions, respectively.

He is also pointing at an M16, which was the main American service rifle during Vietnam. He later points at a SCAR but refers to it as an AR-15. Labeling non ARs as ARs is already a bad look on his reputability (not that he had any to begin with since literally the first thing he said was false). He then claims later that it was banned due to the Assault Weapons Ban, which would technically be false since the AR doesn't classify as an assault rifle since it lacks select fire. His last incorrect point was about the 11 shootings, the last shooting he showed that said the shooter used "2 AR style rifles" is false, one of the 2 was a 9mm chambered carbine that doesn't even look like an AR. The fact they lied about there being 2 leads me to believe that the media has lied about other cases claiming they used "AR style rifles" just because it was a gun without wood furniture. That's everything he got wrong, sweetie. See the importance of firearms education?

@@lonewolf0712 the only thing you're right about is the 2 ar15s. One was a keltech and the other was in fact an ar15. The ar15 was specifically designed for the military in 1954 by Eugene stoner who admitted the ar10 but the military denied it due to wanting a smaller caliber than the m14(.308) so he made the ar15. Beat out the m14 in military trials in 57 and colt purchased the designs in 59. It was used as a standard service rifle in vietnam in 62 and until November of 63 when the m16 was first created. Secondly the ar15 was manufactured and sold fully automatic from the day it was creates to 1984 when the colt patent expired. The ban occurred in 86 and yes did heavily effect ar15s. But because ar15s are modular you can just change out the parts limited in the ban and still have an ar15. You claim gun education is so important but you don't seem to know anything about the firearm in question sweetie.

So hear me out, I feel like the AR's involvement in shootings is just because of how common place the ARs are among American gun owners. It's like saying "cars are the most common occurring element in traffic related injuries". So, it's not necessarily an "AR-15" problem, it's a problem with the proliferation of firearms in general; and the lack of training and other requirements in order to get and own a firearm in the first place. Consider Switzerland, which has a firearm ownership rate which can be compared to the States (28 guns per 100 Swiss civilians, vs 120 guns per 100 US civilians), yet doesn't have nearly as many public shootings as the states, because every man has mandatory military training, and if you misuse your gun or do something that can disqualify from owning it, you get it taken away, which is just the Swiss culture towards owning firearms. 220 people died from firearms in Switzerland in 2022, 200 of those were self-inflicted (a rate of 2.5 people per 100,000 people, in the US it's 7 per 100,000). Whereas the rate of homicide (justifiable, criminal, or accidental) in 2022, was 0.137 per 100,000 people in Switzerland, and in the US it was 4.054 per 100,000 people. So it's not an issue with specific firearms in particular, but rather it's an issue with the availability, and lack of training and oversight. It just so happens that in America, the American weapons manufacturer Armalite happens to have the biggest presence in the American firearms ownership, and therefore has the largest rate of participating in American firearm crime statistics.

The gov lied about guns being the most common thing killing kids, which is true if they consider 18 and 19 year olds as kids lol. Regardless guns are meant to defend oneself or one’s country. Switzerland allows you to buy semi auto weapons with less restrictions than the U.S. and they allow you to get fully automatic weapons through another process (which we aren’t allowed those in the U.S. even, unless if you’re a company. Although back in the day you could by automatic weapons in the catalogs without any background checks, I wonder why there were no shootings back then). I also wonder why we haven’t seen them get “used” as much over there, are you sure it’s the gun’s fault?

No talking out your ass. AR-10 was developed for military contracts, but due to low interest it was sporterized for civilian use. It had brown Bakelite furniture to keep it light weight. The AR-15 was developed to compete for the military's desire for an intermediate cartridge. The sporterized version was sold concurrently while the military tested the xm16. The military designation of m16 has absolutely nothing to do with armilite's number scheme. The M15 rifle was a variant of the m14 rifle designated the m15 Squad Automatic Weapon, it had a pistol grip and an integrated bipod. Bullshit isn't going to fight bullshit.

An assault rifle. Select fire weapon chambered in an intermediate cartridge, and fed by a detachable box magazine. If it doesnt meet those requirements its not an assault rifle. AR-15 doesnt stand for assault rifle, it stands for armalite rifle, the original manufacturer. Assault weapon, on the other hand, means nothing, please stop saying it, literally anything can be an assault weapon. Not saying this to be pedantic, im saying it to educate. When trying to have a discussion about it with people who have a much greater knowledge, you'll lose credibility when you make one of those mistakes.

@@AdamOwenBrowning Yeah I already addressed that part of it in a different comment, the Sub-2000 barely qualifies as a carbine and is basically just a Hi-Point with a long barrel on it. Also...the Vietnam era M16s most definitely DID have "M16" stamped on the receiver. They had one from the manufacturer that was stamped "Colt AR-15" then another from the government arsenals that read "Property of US GOVT M-16A1". Also, if we're going by that logic, I can call by Silverado a Corvette because they're both a Chevy, so its the same thing. Anti-gun folks talk in sweeping generalizations, because that's where their victory lies. If facts and accuracy are brought into the discussion, all of the arguments fall apart which is why "AR-15" gets slapped everywhere it doesn't belong. With these facts in mind, are you really going to strip millions of law-abiding citizens of billions of dollars worth of property over the reprehensible actions of a tiny number of deranged lunatics whose actions don't even rate a blip on the yearly statistics?

@xrcassassin3544

Literally every single solitary thing you said was blatantly wrong. The m16 was developed in the 50s first and foremost. Long before the ar15. And colt patented the ar15 which was literally designed after the m4 carbine. Which was designed after the colt commando. All of which were fully automatic. Please do even the smallest bit of research. An ar15 is literally a semi auto m4 in nearly every aspect except for twist rate. The m4 has an 8 to 1 and the ar15 has a 5 to 1.
@revanspadawan6122
@revanspadawan6122 Жыл бұрын
@@xrcassassin3544 literally everything you just said is just slightly off. Yes, colt was commissioned to develop a new rifle to replace the 40. The Korean War showed that the 40 was not good for jungle style warfare during that development. A.R. 15 came out for common civilian use. Colt went to AR and asked to borrow their platform ideas for the M-16A1, which was the only M-16 platform that was fully auto. I am 1682 through M-16 A4, and none of the M-4 platforms were ever fully auto: only single fire, or burst fire. Unless everything I was taught about the M-16 and the M4 in basic training was a complete and total lie, and the follow up research I did on it was also completely wrong. Granted that I was almost 20 years ago. The point I was trying to make is that the A.R. 15 was in common use before the M-16. Even if the M-16 was in development first it is the military version of the A.R. 15. The A.R. 15 is not the civilian version of the M-16.

@@poseidenforceccj2528 I'm progun but this is a shitty way to carry the movement forward. The Ar15 and M4 both have the same levels of lethality. Couple things 1) the 1994 "assualt weapons" ban did nothing to prevent people from buying ar15. The companies just modified some cosmetic features and they were legal again. 2) the 1994 "assualt weapons" ban also had no noticeable affect on crime, because long guns are not the weapon of choice for criminals, handguns are. 3) the ar15 is one of the most popular weapon in the country, so there are alot of them meaning more access them. 4) less than 500 deaths every year are attributed to rifles and that includes accidents and self defense.
