About to buy that true grass done some research and it fits what I need. Might be worth mentioning in next video, it’s also safe to use if you have pets and children. Keep up the top work.

Fact update - iron does help the health of the plant. That rye grass in the pot looks completely dehydrated that’s why it’s gone that silvery grey color.

Gardens looking great. Congratulations. Get on the dog rocks! You may remember - I have an Allett 17”. Brilliant machine. The verticutter cartridge is awesome. And I would recommend it. The scarifying cartridge is great too. But given the cost of it. I would recommend the first over the second. The second hand market is worth a check too. I bought a spare 6 blade cartridge for half the price of new. I tried my Sumi-soaker for the first time today. As per your previous film. And yes I used your code. Great piece of kit - the actual “hose”. Delivers water in a really good pattern. And I was really impressed with the performance. And I’m running it at the full 50m. The reel is a bit disappointing and could have been better - the handle needed some thread lock. And the guides are pretty useless. Far better to use your hand to keep it all aligned. So far so good and glad I bought it. 👍 All the best, regards Chris.

Hi noticed the shrubs on the back wall are suffering. Highly recommend Westland all purpose fertiliser to kick them into gear. Also the wall causes the soil to dry out quickly so would recommend wood chips as mulch to help stop weeds and keep moisture levels. If the shrubs die this year recommend planting Laurel from bare root in the autumn. Grass is looking beautiful by the way. Keep up the good work.

Having wood edges is beneficial in the heat. Mines drying out in the edges that get the most sun. The driveway edging gets pretty hot lol. I water the edges a few times a day.

My front grass is rye which works well, gets plenty of sun all year round and the soil drains well. Put bent/fescue in the back because rye just died every winter, not enough sun, clay soil, not as good drainage. I just have to have scarify it now and again.

Another good video, cracking content this year. Just a few thoughts from me. You’re not on your own but a lot of people talk of ‘bent/fescue’ and ‘rye’ lawns, why do you think many don’t cover ‘rye/fescue’ lawns? This is exactly what I have, approx 75% rye 25% fescue, so get the dark green advantage of the rye and the fescue helps reduce thinning over winter. Also think you were a little disingenuous (I’m sure not intentional!) by comparing your bent/fescue upper lawn now compared to your rye after winter. Your rye lawn looked well this time last year same as it does now. I think rye/fescue is underrated

Have you tried the “dog rocks” in your water bowl? Worked a charm for me..loving the videos

Do you feed your dog raw food?
@nige1565 ай бұрын
No mate, she has dry, and only a tiny Pom.

See I feed raw n it just burns the grass. They don't drink much due to the raw being high in moisture too. Don't know how I will get around it.

Prob have to put a lead on n take them to an area they can use

Cheers mate 👍🏻 I’ve not used them, but heard they stop the wee burning the grass. Our dog is quite good, he never goes on the grass, just the plants. I’ll just have to put up with the odd burn on the edges 😅

Honestly, for the size of your lawn and lack of Sun it’s obvious this will be better and hold up better in the winter. If you had a massive lawn like the ones Dan Hibbet does, then rye grass would be the best. Your bottom lawn with the bent fescue looks like it’s going to be less muddy than yours the year before.

What bent grass seed do you recommend?
@NoviceGardener5 ай бұрын
I’ve got Lawn Associations bent/fescue (40/60) on the bottom tier, but this smaller lawn is Tillers Turf’s bent/fescue on soil

Thank you. I heard bent has issues with disease and wondered whether dwarf rye is any better. I’ll check out those seeds, thanks 👍🏻

Just True Grass. Got a fair bit of decent stuff in it 👍🏻

Maybe,it might be time,to invest in a lawn sprinkler. The lawnsmiths usually water their golf courses.😅
